Latin Name: Rhamnus purshiana

Cascara Sagrada is a mild laxative and can be used to relieve constipation. It contains components which aid in expelling waste from the body. Cascara has also been used as a flavoring agent in candy, frozen dairy desserts, and baked goods

It is best used in capsule form and can be used as a tea or extract.

Warnings: Not to be used during pregnancy or while nursing. Avoid use if you suffer from abdominal pain or diarrhea. Stop using if diarrhea or watery stools occur during use.
