Cramp Tincture Mix

Herbal Mixes: PMS Cramp Tincture Mix

Contains: Cramp bark White Willow Chamomile Flower Passion Flower and Valerian root

How to make it
Fill a clean glass canning jar 1/3 full with dried herbs. Add vodka up to one inch to the top. Screw lid on tightly and store in a cool, dark place. Shake 3-7 times a week. The tincture needs to sit at least 2-6 weeks. Strain tincture and pour into a colored glass bottle, closing the lid tightly. Alcohol tinctures will last 2-3 years. Tinctures need to be kept in a cool, dark place such as a cabinet.
Why use vodka? Water rolls off the liver where alcohol goes straight to it taking the herb with it.

I always had extremely severe periods, until I started the PMS Tincture mix. When I say severe, I mean at 14 years old I was given a prescription muscle relaxer to help my cramps. At 15 I was put on birth control to regulate my exhaustive, uncontrollable flow. At the age of 22 I gave up and stopped taking everything, nothing seemed to help. All this changed when I started taking the PMS Tincture kit. I took the pre-2 week, three weeks before the start of my period. Basically, one week after I stopped my period. The pre-1 week, I took one week before dooms day, and the cramp tea as needed during my period.

I took:

  • Pre 2 wk: 3-4 TBSP per day for severe months or 2-3 TBSP per day for normal months, starting 2 weeks before cycle.
  • Pre 1 wk: 2-3 TBSP per day, even if still taking Pre-2 wk., starting 1 week before cycle. (Discontinue pre-1 and pre-2 after cycle begins.)
  • Cramp Tea: 1 TBSP every 30 minutes, until cramps subside and 2 tsp. every 3-4 hrs after that.

The best part about the tincture mix is it works and it gives your body the extra nutrients it needs for “that time of the month”. Some greatly appreciated benefits I noticed were the sweets cravings subsided, headaches were less frequent and more manageable, and water weight is less too.

Vinegar tincture
by Anonymous on Feb 26, 2013

Hello! I was wondering if a vinegar or glycerin tincture would work, for this tea, or if vodka is the only way to get it where it needs to go?

Thanks,
Libby

Could you use glycerine to make this tincture, or would it not be as effective as alcohol?

Also, what herbs would you recommend for night sweats/hot flashes, or pre-menopausal symptoms in general? Perhaps you could make a mix for Pre-Menopause Relief?

Yes, you can make it with glycerin, it won't be as strong tasting but still effective. Some herbs for Pre-menopause would be Black Cohosh, Chaste Berry, Dong Quai, Red Clover, and Sage. Avoid using Red Clover if you have/had ovarian cysts, breast cancer or any hormone related tumors, as Red Clover has estrogenic properties.

Can I use something other than vodka?

Yes, your next best option would be apple cider vinegar, second, vegetable glycerin, and third would be honey!
