Have you ever thought about mixing your own vitamins? It is not as difficult as you might think. If your body can digest food, it can also digest and assimilate herbs. Unlike many vitamins, herbs act as a food to your body and are easily digestible. You can choose the herbs according to your needs and make your "daily herbal vitamins" easily and quickly, at a fraction of the cost of a bottle of multi-vitamins.

(Use caution when using during pregnancy)

Herba-Smoothie Instructions:

1 rounded teaspoon of Herba-Smoothie mix
1 cup frozen fruit (my favorite right now is mixed berries)
1/2 cup yogurt (any brand will work, homemade is best)
3/4 cup juice (my favorite is orange or mango)

Combine well in blender. Add some honey if you like, but it may not even need it. YUM!

Serving size
by Anonymous on Mar 4, 2014

We just received your herba-smoothie pack and are enjoying them. I am wondering what a typical serving size is for your recipe. Is the recipe on the label one serving? I think as directed, it prepares about two cups. I am wondering how much I should prepare for my family of five to make sure we get enough.
Thanks so much! It's great to make something so good for us that we all enjoy!

I would use about 1 tsp per serving. Thanks!

Is this absolutely safe to take while pregnant?
by Jamie on Jan 17, 2014

Hi there, I have been wanting to purchase this product for awhile & just found I am pregnant!! I know the description to this product says to use with caution while pregnant. Do you recommend taking this while pregnant? Is there any ingredient that would be potentially harmful to the baby I am carrying?

Re: Is this absolutely safe to take while pregnant?
by Bulk Herb Store on Jan 20, 2014

Hello, we recommend using this with caution while you are pregnant because it can cause a rise in heartbeat for you and the baby. If you have any concerns you should speak with your midwife or healthcare provider. Thanks!

I was just not too clear after reading all the comments, what it is to worry about as far as the kids taking it? What is it that need be in a smaller dose? My kids are almost 2 and 3 1/2 and I do smoothies for us all pretty regularly and was just wanting a better idea of what it is in this mix that I need to keep an eye on or b careful with for the kidos? Thanks so much!

by Bulk Herb Store on Jan 20, 2014

Hello, the caution that we give is based on the Eluethero because it can cause a rise in heartbeat. That would be the only small concern you could watch out for. Thanks!

No we don't have anything else that contains similar ingredients without the oatstraw. Sorry!

Mixing an altered version of this with powders
by Anna on Sep 20, 2013

If we'd like to add a few other herbs to this or need to make our own to leave off the oatstraw, how do we proportionally combine the various herb powders?
Thank you

Is it safe to take this daily alongside Diatomaceous Earth or would there be any issue with too much silica or or detox qualities of the two?
Is this safe to use for Children age 11 if you need to stay away from Erin's Green Drink due to alfalfa ingredient?

    Re: Silica
by Bulk Herb Store on Sep 19, 2013

It should be fine, but may be best to give a smaller amount to a 11 yr. old than adults if they are under 100 lbs. body weight.

made into a tincture???
by Heidi on Sep 11, 2013

Could this blend be soaked in vodka and made into a tincture?

    Re: made into a tincture???
by Bulk Herb Store on Sep 13, 2013

You could try it but powders don't make very good tinctures. It's better to use the actual herb so it can pull the nutriion it needs into the vodka.

    Re: Storage

You can store it in the fridge but you don't have to. I usually just store mine in my kitchen cupboard.

Gluten Free
by Christine on Mar 21, 2013

Is this powder considered gluten free?

    Re: Gluten Free
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 26, 2013

There is conflicting info. on whether oat straw is gluten free so if I was extremely allergic to gluten, I would avoid it to be on the safe side.

    Re: For the whole family?

It should be OK for children, I would maybe just do a smaller dose than adults. I would use with caution while nursing.

Question: How many servings?
by Laura on Feb 24, 2013

I am wondering how many servings a half a pound works out to if I use a rounded tablespoon per serving. It doesn't need to be exact I am just wondering how long a half pound will last.

    Re: Question: How many servings?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 25, 2013

There is approx. 1 1/2 - 2 cups per half pound.

I make fresh fruit smoothies with kefir for myself and my toddler in the mornings. I'm pregnant and wondering if this would be heathy for me to add to my smoothie. If not, what product would you recommend that will give me a little boost?

Use with caution while pregnant and don't use too much! I would use it under the supervision of an herbal health care provider.

Nutrition Question
by Mallory on Jul 7, 2012

Could you post a nutrition breakdown of this blend? I just made my first smoothie with it and am quite happy--I mixed a rounded tsp with 1 c fresh strawberries, 1 small cooked sweet potato, 1 stalk of celery, and pomegranate joice. It does give an herby taste, but it's not unpleasant!

    Re: Nutrition Question
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 4, 2012

We do not have a nutrition break down for this blend since we wouldn't be able to get the exact measurements for each item and they do vary depending on when they were grown, harvested, and even the soil they were grown in. We have all the ingredients that go into this mix listed at the top of the page so if you would like you can just click on each product and it will take you to that product page and it will give a description on what its good for.

Improved my health
by Maria W. on Jun 20, 2012

I started taking a heaping teaspoon of this herb mix along with a tsp of DE and a 1/4 tsp of black walnut hull mixed into water every day starting several months ago and I have noticed a big improvement in my digestive system and my immune system. I caught only one virus this fall and I usually catch 3 or 4, since I work with preschoolers. Also, I have noticed that I rarely have a problem with stomach inflammation when I eat foods that 7 or 8 months ago would have caused severe stomach aches.

by Sandi on Jun 1, 2012

can you put the daily boost in a capsule? Thanks

    Re: capsule
by Bulk Herb Store on Nov 21, 2012

Yes! It will be a lot of capsules but it should work.

WOW! Fantastic!
by Chris on Jun 1, 2012

I am so thrilled with this smoothie! I have to rise and shine very early for work and I have started using this as an afternoon pick me up. I pureed strawberries, blueberries and a little juice and froze them into cupcake sized cubes that I keep in the freezer. Each day I fill a shaker container with a little juice, 1 berry 'cube' and a dose of the daily boost AND a little of the cinnamon! I take this to work, shake it up and drink. DELICIOUS! Immediately I feel awake and ready to tackle the rest of the day! I love that the daily boost does not taste 'herby' and it completely dissolves. Thank you so much for a great product! My kids love it too!

by Heather on Apr 26, 2010

My husband & I started drinking these for breakfast yesterday and we absolutely love them! It's wonderful to know that we're drinking such a healthy breakfast and now I look forward to having another one each day. If only I could get my kids to drink them! They are so picky and resistant to trying new things. I'm hoping if they see us enjoying them everyday they will want some too.

Beats the Afternoon Slump
by Cassy on Nov 19, 2009

I've bought packs of the Daily Boost Herba-Smoothie and think it's the best. I add a heaping tablespoon to my smoothies. I no longer get the 'afternoon slump' that I used to experience around 2pm. I especially appreciate the added benefit to my bladder/kidneys with the oatstraw and burdock root. The gingko for my mind and the ginseng are also why I especially like this herb mix. Thank you very much for putting this mix together!

Great for kids

Thank you! I just received my order of herbs-lightning fast! I placed my order late Monday night and was thrilled to find them already delivered today (Thursday).

I am enjoying a delicious Daily Boost Herba-Smoothie (alongside my 3 kids) as I write to you, and loving the fact that we are all getting something our bodies need for good health.

God bless you and your work!

Actually good!
by Emily, 14 yrs old on Oct 7, 2009

I had been sick for over a month and wasn't really taking any herbs (elixirs) because of their taste so my Mom got me this herb mixture. I was reluctant to take this and since I was sick I wasn't allowed any dairy products so I couldn't exactly follow the directions. I ended up putting about 12oz. of apple juice and 1-1/2 cups of frozen strawberries in a blender with the Herba-Smoothie mix. I found that the more apple juice I put in the sweeter the smoothie got. It was really not that bad compared to the herbs I'd taken. It was actually good. Thank you for this tasty way to take herbs!

by Diane on Sep 24, 2009

Greetings! I have just started using your "Smoothie Formulas." I rotate a different one each morning for breakfast...they are DELICIOUS!!! My husband, who does not use herbs regularly except the ones I "sneak" into his food, said after tasting mine, "Would you mind making one of those for me"!! Wonder of wonders!!! Blessings to you and yours!
