Herbal Mixes: Erin's Super Green Drink Mix

Contains Very Small Amount of Natural Caffeine: Alfalfa, Barley Grass, Beet Root, Bilberry Fruit, Burdock Root, Chamomile Flowers, Cinnamon, Dandelion Leaf, Fennel Seed , Ginkgo Leaf, Eleuthero Root, Green Tea , Hawthorn Berry, Kelp, Lemon Peel Nutritional Yeast, Oatstraw Olive Leaf, Orange Peel Passion Flower, Red Raspberry, Rose Hips, Spinach Leaf, Spirulina, St. John's Wort, Nettle Leaf, Turmeric root and Wheat Grass.

After much research, I developed a Super Green Smoothie Mix that contains 28 different herbs that contain a balance of nutrition that tops any multivitamin you can buy on the market for literally half the price. When this is mixed into a smoothie, you can rest assured knowing the kids are getting the benefits daily. With the knowledge that we should be getting our 5-6 serving of veggies a day, breakfast is the one meal most people forget to add them too. A typical American breakfast consists of eggs, meat, bread, cereal, yogurt, milk, or fruit. If you add a few tablespoons of my Super Green Smoothie Mix to an entire smoothie, some mung bean sprouts, kale, and spinach, you have a very healthy power packed smoothie that contains at least a couple servings of your much needed greens without the struggle.

Adding the nutrients to a delightfully creamy smoothie is just the perfect fix. My kids will never turn down a smoothie even when I sneak in the super greens, in fact, they beg for more. If there ever is any smoothie left in the blender, I quickly fill up popsicle molds and pop them into the freezer. The kids think it is a special treat to have a "smoothie pop" after each meal. They are getting more servings of probiotics, fruit, veggies, and herbs. It makes a mother feel good to know her children are getting the nutrition they need as they grow.

Enjoy!
Erin Harrison,
Homestead Productions

Can this be made into a tincture?

    Re: Erin's green mix

    Hello,
It is difficult to use a powder in a tincture, therefore, we recommend that you mix this blend in a juice or smoothie. Thanks!

how to store?
by Hannah on Feb 18, 2014

I just received my Erin's Super Green Drink Mix and am so excited! I was wondering if I kept it in a glass jar with a sealed lid do you think it would keep its freshness? Or should I keep it stored in the ziploc pouch it came in?
Thank

    Hello,
You can store it either way! However it is the best, to store it in the fridge or in a cool dark place. Thanks!

Erin's Green Drink Mix
by Jennifer Yule on Jan 29, 2014

We've been using Erin's Green Drink Mix for a week or so now and everyone in the family loves it! It's great in a Carob-Banana Smoothie or a Mixed Berry Smoothie. My husband who used to turn his nose up to green smoothie drinks now requests it every morning! He says he notices a difference in how he feels if he doesn't get one!
Thanks so much!

Use as Tea?

This is all powders so it doesn't make a very good tea. Thanks!

Yummy in candy!
by Tania on Oct 22, 2013

Honestly, half of my family is too sensitive to smells and tastes. I've tried this mix in juices, teas, cocktails, smoothies... and still we couldn't withstand this strong taste of some herbs in the mix. So it's been sitting in my closet for a year, unless recently, whenI found a recipe of a candy. I've mixed Green Drink Mix with grounded nuts (almond, pecans, etc.), seeds (sunflower, flax, chia), and dry fruits (apricots, figs, cranberries, etc.). Added cocoa powder and didn't need to add honey, because it was already sweet. I made small balls and stored them in the fridge for a few weeks, until they gone. Very nutritious and delicious! Much tastier, than in a drink!

is this for me?

i have heartburn, leg cramps, paon in my feet and hip joints, and some arthritis. i've been prescribed: vit. D, B1, calcium, serreptose, magnesium, MSM, and electrolytes. are all these in Erin's super green drink? is there a list of all the vitamins you get so i can see it? it sounds like a dream come true. i hate swallowing pills and even drinking a lot... so vitamin balls are my perfect answer! thank you!

    Hello,
Erin's Super Green drink mix does contain a lot of vitamins and minerals. However, we do not test the exact amount of vitamins per serving so I wouldn't be able to tell you if all that was in our mix. We are not medical professionals and cannot advice not taking your prescriptions.

spirulina

There is not another mix like the Erin's Green Drink Mix. You could however try our Daily Boost Herba-Smoothie. Thanks!

Love It!!
by Brandy on Aug 23, 2013

I started working out. Anytime I would sit down for an extended time my knee would lock up. It hurt and it took me a few steps to get moving again. I bought this product along with capsules and the capsule machine. I started taking one capsule daily and in about a week or two the pain in my knee was gone! I still take this as a daily vitamin and the pain has never come back. Also, my husband had elevated blood pressure- not too high but high enough. I noticed a lot of the herbs in this mix are good for heart health so he started taking a capsule a day too. He has been to the doctor since starting to take this and his blood pressure is now normal!!!

Low iron
by Caroline on Jul 18, 2013

Over the past year when my husband has tried to give blood his iron was slightly low. This past time they said he was anemic to the point of possibly having an ulcer. He eats a healthy, natural diet and feels totally normal so he doesn't think it's an ulcer. He drinks a lot of our goat's milk which is devoid of iron so it may just be that he doesn't intake enough iron. Is this a good source of iron or is there something else that you would reccomend to give his iron levels a boost?

    Re: Low iron
by Bulk Herb Store on Jul 24, 2013

The Erin's Super Green Drink Mix quite a few herbs that are high in iron so I would consider it a good source of iron. If it doesn't do the job, you could take extra beet root powder or spirulina powder.

Great product but a few questions
by Melanie on Jun 21, 2013

I've been taking Erin's Green Drink Mix for over a month now and have had wonderful results, but for the past week I've been experiencing insomnia. Since there is a chance that I am pregnant, I've been going through the herb list to see what exactly why certain herbs are not to be taken during pregnancy/lactation. I'm only half way through the herbs when I was learning what Eleuthero root was, I've come to learn there are a few side effects from long term use. Here are the listed side effects, to note, I found this list on several different websites: "Although eleuthero is likely safe when used in the short term, it may trigger a number of side effects (including insomnia, headache, nervousness, drowsiness, and hypoglycemia). It's also important to take caution when using Siberian ginseng if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, diabetes, a hormone-sensitive condition (such as breast cancer or uterine fibroids), or a mental condition (such as mania or schizophrenia). In these cases, the NIH recommends avoiding the use of eleuthero or using eleuthero only under your doctor's supervision."

I've also been experiencing low grade headaches that I cannot find the root cause of. So my question would be, can you take out the Eleuthero root? I know short term it can be very beneficial, but I would like to continue with this product as it has helped my stress levels and mental state tremendously. I suffer from depression and have noticed a significant improvement in my mental state since taking the green drink and my energy levels are more stable too. Thanks for your consideration of this change.

My hubby has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension! I know you can't diagnose and I am not asking for that!! I want to make sure the herbs that are in this green smoothie mix are ok for the heart and lungs!! I know there are some herbs you should not take on a daily basis!! My husband needs to loose weight dr. Orders! But so do I!! Lol!!! I have your heart health, stress relief mixes already I love them! Any info will help, so we can not hurt his health any longer!! Thank you!!

    Re: General
by Bulk Herb Store on Jun 18, 2013

Since not every individual responds the same to different herbs, I would recommend talking to a natural medicine practitioner before taking it as I am not sure how it would affect hypertension. Also check out this link for all the benefit reports Diatomaceous Earth has on most individuals, including reducing blood pressure!

Caffiene free
by Julie on Jun 3, 2013

Is it possible for this to be made without the green tea? I'm maintaining a candida free environment and because of the mold that's present in green tea I have to stay away from it, caffeine also destroys the good bacteria in your gut so that's also a no. Or would it be possible to get an estimation on the amount of herbs used?

Sorry, but we are not able to do any special orders at this time, nor can we give out the recipe.

okay to bake?
by Sharon on May 14, 2013

A couple of my children are having a hard time getting used to the flavor that Erin's Super Green Drink Mix adds to their smoothies. If I were to mix some of it into brownies or other baked goods, would the nutritional benefits be reduced at all?

    Re: okay to bake?
by Bulk Herb Store on May 21, 2013

It's best to use the herbs fresh because they could lose some if not all of their value when baked. You could put it in capsules if they really can't stand it.

Super Green Drink Powder

My husband is in the military. Dan takes PT tests at least once a year. He has PT three times a week during which he runs at least three and a half miles. On Fridays, he runs at least six.The first time he had this smoothie blend in a smoothie it was a Thursday night. He came home on Friday with a faster run time and couldn't stop talking about how great he felt all day long and how that smoothie blend made him feel like he could climb mountains after that run! We love this smoothie stuff!

Green tea question
by Patti on May 7, 2013

I know this might sound dumb but can you offer a batch specifically without the green tea? We don't use it and it keeps me from being able to purchase it. I have other friends who would be interested as well but the green tea would keep them from it as well.

We do not currently offer any special orders but I will run it past the others for future consideration! Thanks!

Yes! You would need to take quite a few though to match a tsp or a Tbsp.

I was just wonder about how many servings were in a 1/2lb bag?

    Re: Serving size
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 24, 2013

I would say there is approx. 1 1/2 c. of the mix in a half pound bag so if there's 16 T. per c. there should be approx. 24 T. in a half pound which would be 72 tsp.

nursing
by Katrina on Mar 1, 2013

would this product be considered safe for nursing?

    Re: nursing
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 19, 2013

We recommend using with caution because of some of the herbs included in the mix, such as St. John's Wort, Eleuthero and Green tea. Personally I would take it and just be sure to watch my baby carefully for any negative affects, as there may be adverse affects such as drowsiness, lethargy and colic from too much St. John's Wort.

safe for pregnant women?
by Stacy R on Jan 23, 2013

I am 5 months pregnant, and was wondering if all of the ingredients in the Super Green Drink Mix are safe for pregnancy. Thanks!

    Re: safe for pregnant women?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 2, 2013

Caution is advised because of the Eleuthero and Green tea. Some people can't handle Eleuthero and some might not want the caffeine, although there would only be a small amount per serving. So I would recommend doing your own research and figure out if you want to take it or not!

By,By,Fibromyalgia!
by Melinda on Jan 15, 2013

Chronic Pain and Fatique was my daily life for over a year and a half.
After many attempts with RX drugs I had to try something else because the side effects were killing me slowly. I literally was popping pills all day trying to keep the pain at bay. Well after weight gain, blurred vision, heart racing, and constipation I made a decision to try the Erin's Mix. Within three days I was clear minded and taking no narcotics for pain. With in two weeks I was amazed at my energy, normal for me was to start hurting around 2 in the afternoon and be exhalted by dinner and drugged up on meds by 7pm ready for bed. Now I am like a teenager running around with my three kids ages 5,8,and 11! They love Erin's Super Green Drink Mix.
I have added Resoultion Tea, Dr. Cinnamon's Tea, Kelp, Berry Herbal Brew, Muscle Mix Salve, and Celtic Salt and have new herbs on the way! I thank the Lord for you and your herb store and my family thanks you for helping them get their mom back! We laugh around here and call Erin's Super Green Drink Mix the gateway herb for all the other herbs!

Can this be taken during pregnancy? I wasn't sure as some of the ingredients seem to list detoxifying properties.

Thanks!

    Re: Taken during pregnancy?

We recommend using caution if taking during pregnancy as some people may have a problem with the Eleuthero in it.

Oatstraw
by Kimberly on Jan 8, 2013

Hi! I would love to purchase this, but I'm curious about the Oatstraw. I cannot eat oats, or oat bran, because it gives me stomach issues. It's not the gluten...JUST oats. :-/ Would the oatstraw be in the same category? If so, is there anything you can recommend without the oatstraw? I have been searching for an affordable whole food "vitamin" for so long, it's discouraging. :( Thanks!

    Re: Oatstraw
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 29, 2013

I'm not sure how much different oat-straw's properties would be from the oats, so for myself I would probably try taking the Erin's with just juice or water and see if I notice any negative affects or not. Other than that I would suggest asking your health care provider if you have one!

This looks great for smoothies! I was trying to check out the ingredients, are they all safe during pregnancy?

    Re: safe during pregnancy?
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

There are a few herbs in it that we would recommend using with caution, such as Eleuthero (Siberian ginseng), and burdock root, especially if taken in large dosages. Also if you are not used to caffeine, there might be a chance the Green Tea may affect you, although there wouldn't be a large amount of these herbs in one serving of the mix.

    Re: Pregnant
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 29, 2013

Herbs don't work the same for each individual, therefore we recommend using with caution as there is some Eleuthero Root in it. I would take it for myself but some people may not be able to handle Eleuthero.
I would advise doing your own research first!

Works Wonders for Me!
by Lucie C. on Aug 22, 2012

I take a teaspoon of this mix in my morning herbal tea. I started taking both a teaspoon of this and of the organic Beet Root Powder in my AM tea after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The chronic fatigue has gone away and I am SO thankful to have my life back. I don't believe it is a coincidence and I attribute it to the dense nutrition that my body receives from both these products.

This herbal powdered mix has also replaced a product I was getting from a health food store that is more than 3 times the price.

Gluten-free Option?
by Joy on Jul 9, 2012

I was just about to order Erin's Super Green Drink Mix when I realized that it probably contains gluten due to the wheat grass and barley grass. Do you know if there will be a gluten-free mix available? My husband is sensitive to gluten, unfortunately. I was so excited to have found such a great alternative to costly vitamins.
I just love your site! Your products are great and we have enjoyed them over the years. You have taught our family so much. Thank you!!!

Erins Super Green Drink Mix
by Gene on Jun 20, 2012

I have been taking Erins Mix daily in my morning yogurt for 4 months. My psoriasis has not flared up or itched and is clearing, not gone, but clearing since. My morning lower back pain and sore muscles from working out are gone as well. I introduced my sister to it after her two hip operations and her pain is significantly improved. In fact she stopped for two weeks and the pain returned, now she is back to a daily teaspoon with her breakfast juice.
Great product..thank you from both of us.

Great mix!

Wonderful day starter!
by Laura on Jun 5, 2012

I have been using this Green Drink Mix for about 2 months and it has been wonderful! There are several combinations I have tried, none of which are the suggested way in the article, but good nonetheless. A cup of frozen berries, teaspoon of peanut butter, some honey and cinnamon--voila! I have to say it was a bit much to drink straight, like I tried once. Adding a banana with honey and ginger was good also. Sometimes I use water, other times I use some 100% juice as the liquid. I am so glad I am getting such a wide array of nutrients!

Please, take a moment and comment on this product.
