Green Salve Mix

Contains: Plantain Leaf Calendula Flowers Comfrey Leaf Yarrow Flower Rosemary Leaf Echinacea Root Echinacea Herb

One bag of this mix will make approximately 16-24 oz. of salve.

This is a great salve to have around for use on everything. You can rub it on wounds or put some on problem areas, then wrap it, and let the salve work.

MAKING MASSAGE OIL OR SALVE

1. Making a salve might sound difficult, but it isn’t. The thing that takes the longest is infusing your herbs with oil. The best way for you to do this is in a crock pot on very low heat.
2. Stuff a mason jar 1/3 full with herbs.
3. Fill jar with oil of your choice (coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, etc.), leaving at least one inch from the top of jar. Screw a lid on tight.
4. Put a wash cloth in the bottom of the crock pot. Put jar in the center of the pot (on the wash cloth). Fill the crock pot with water, one inch below top of jar.
5. Keep crock pot on low heat (oil needs to be very hot but not boiling) for 3 days. Water will evaporate out of the pot, so keep adding water as needed.
6. As the herbs’ properties release in the oil, the oil will have more color and smell like herb oil.
With a cheese cloth (cotton sheet or t-shirt will work too) strain herb solids out of oil. Now you have a herbal infused oil. It is good for massage oil!!!
7. To make the oil into a salve you need bees wax. You need approximately 2 oz. of grated beeswax for 8 to 9 oz. of infused oil.
8. On low heat, warm oil and bees wax until wax is all melted.
9. Add a drop of vitamin E oil for every ounce of oil. This is a natural preservative.
10. While salve is still hot, pour into your container (wide mouth jar, can, etc.).
11. Let sit over night or until salve is hard.
12. Screw a lid on tight and label with name and date. Voila!! You have a salve!!!
Tips:
~ If it is too soft for you, reheat it and add a bit more beeswax. If it is too hard reheat it and add a touch more oil.
~ Salve is a thick oil that is used for, cuts, bites, burns, rashes, boils, massage, and more. Salves can keep up to five years or more.
~ Keep out of light and extreme heat.

pregnancy
by mommy on Mar 25, 2013

I was wondering if I can use this. I'm almost 3 months pregnant and just started to get some egzema which i never had. I have made and used some before pregnancy. It works great on every scar bruise and you name it! I know it will help me with my egzema, I'm just not sure if i can/should use it? Is it safe? Thank You for your time on answering my question. God bless you.

I love this salve it works so well on everything. My grankiddos call it boo boo cream, takes tears ways. My hubby skin is sensitive and we use it on all bites, bumps and rashes. His work friends liked it so I made him some too! My dad has diabetes and when his skin develops any rash perfect! Thanks

Definitely Amazing!

We have been VERY impressed with this salve mix. I originally bought it for my daughter's psoriasis problem, which it helped soooo much! We have used it on rashes and stings and even on a dog bite that my son had. It works so well, but the most amazing healing was the healing of my brother's arm. He sustained an injury that left a nasty knot on this forearm and very little ability to use it at all. However, after applying the salve for 10 days, the lump was gone and he was doing push-ups. May I add that he suffered with this injury for almost a year before applying the salve. Thank you, BHS!

AMAZING and so easy to make
by Nanci Smith on Dec 12, 2012

I so appreciate all I've learned on this website and the YouTube Videos. I never would have thought I'd have the confidence to make my own salve, but I did it this week!
I made some extra for a friend to give as a gift. I used those cute little 8 oz glass Mason jars. I made a nice label and called it "Lord's Delight Healing Salve" from Psalm 35:27 (NIV) "The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant."
It's way better than Burt's Bees ResQ Cream, and comparable to beeyoutiful's Miracle Salve, but so much more economical to make yourself.

Green Salve

I and my daughter have been using this salve for the last 4 years. My granddaughter has NEVER had a diaper rash and any skin irritations that last. The salve is fantastic. I now give it to new moms as a baby shower gift and everyone has loved it.

Great for Animals too!

I ordered this mix for my family to use but decided to also try it on our dog. Our poor dog has had the worst summer with allergies. We've been to the vet for meds and tried every kind of shampoo they have but he has just suffered with itchy irritated skin.
I made the infused oil and keep it in the fridge to harden and it soothes his skin like nothing else! He stops itching and his skin is no longer red and inflamed. I'm so glad I found this. Thanks

Great

I use this for all types of things. Its great for burn's takes the pain away and does not leave a scar on the area, also great for cat or dog scratch's and insect bits. My neighbor got bitten by bee's and used it and all the swelling on the face went down in second's. Its great to have on hand for any thing. I make it up and give it away to all my neighbors now. The just love it.

Gres Salve
by Tracy Thomas on Jul 25, 2012

I made this salve and had my son who suffered with severe eczema on his knees, ankles and legs. He has used it for one year now and one leg is completely cleared up and the other is just about there. No more itching, redness, sores, etc that comes along with it! Greatest salve I have ever used!!!

On a second note, we just used it on a jellyfish sting and it reduced the swelling within 15 minutes of applying it!
Love it!!

Excellent for poison ivy
by Allison on Jul 5, 2012

I made green salve and added tea tree oil. My 3 year old got a REALLY bad case of poison ivy . We put the salve on three times a day. OH me oh my, it is almost gone three days later! With only one teeny tiny blisterish lesion, that only was evident for a day. Amazing!!

Great Salve!
by Joel and Renee Pike on Jun 11, 2012

This salve has been fantastic for our family of six who live in northern Minnesota. We have lots of ticks, black flies and mosquitos here just to name a few. And when any of us gets bit, we put on this salve right away and the healing process seems to speed up and the itchiness is relieved. This salve has been nicnamed the "owie salve" and is put on any scrape, bite, burn, cut, blister you can think of. I am so thankful for this instead of the "over the counter" anti-bacterial creams. Recently I was raking up the yard and forgot to put gloves on during the process. I could feel the blisters starting to form under my sore skin. I rubbed this salve on when I got into the house and by the next day my hands were completely normal. Thank you Bulk Herb Store for creating this mix!

I have been using The Immune Booster tincture successfully for fever. When someone runs a fever, we start giving a dropperful or so every hour until it is down. Then, we decrease to every 3-4 hours. This has worked many times. Thanks for the recipe.
