Amla
by Alison on Apr 24, 2014

I love Amla. It adds a nice tang to my fruit smoothies. It keeps me and the family from getting sick.
Some of my kids have dry curly-coily hair that can be hard to comb. I mixed some amla with coconut oil and cooked it a bit in a pot then blended it with Olive oil added it to a glass bottle and it made a wonderfully strange detangling hair oil. Strange because I cannot figure out why it works but wonderful because it helps us to comb through the tangles with way super greater ease.
I love amla and get ansy whenever we run out of it.

Vitamin C and such
by Anonymous on Feb 17, 2014

The vitamin C in this powder is amazing! I feel bad but everyone around me is getting sick and I'm somehow immune (knock on wood). I've heard that ingesting this for skin and hair should be done on an empty stomach. Is this true? I've just been adding it to my morning shake.

Hello, we are so glad that you are feeling good with herbs! From the small amount of research I did, it doesn't seem necessary to take it on an empty stomach! Thanks!

pregnancy/nursing
by Ishshah on Dec 21, 2013

I know you recommend this, as an ingredient, in the Berry Herbal Brew as a remedy for fertility in your, "Making Babies", but once conception takes place is it safe taken while pregnant and later nursing? Thank you!

by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 23, 2013

    Hello,
From the research I have done it seems like you can take the powder while pregnant but to use caution as it can absorb iron. So if you have low iron or find that you are having trouble keeping it up you should probably stop. If you have any concerns consult your midwife or doctor. Thanks!

Amla/Amalaki powder
by Rebekah on Jun 24, 2013

My Indian friend told me about this herb, which they call Amla. She said her mom and aunt make their daughters eat these berries every day to make their skin and hair amazing, and it sure works! They buy the frozen berries at the Indian store and once she let me try one. It was super sour which is why they have to force their girls to eat them, but buy the time the girls are teens, they see the benefits as people ooh and ahh over their silky hair and perfect complexions! She said people also use it as a hair treatment but blondes wouldn't want to because it makes your hair so dark. Jesus is so good to make such good plants for our service! :)

After 30 years of smoking and laying in the sun; I have used the Amla powder topically along with antioxidants orally and my face looks like I'm in my early 30's again. I have quit smoking and use the Amla powder topically every 4-5 days for 2 -3 weeks. My friends cannot believe how my skin feels. EVERY woman should have this in their beuty routine.

dosage
by Jen malin on May 5, 2013

What is the dosage?

    Re: dosage
by Bulk Herb Store on May 9, 2013

Personally we usually just start out with a small dose of anything we are taking and work our way up to whatever we feel we need so we don't actually have specific dosages. So you can either try that if you're comfortable with it, or ask a natural medicine practitioner for specific dosages.

Please, could some one explain
how we should consume this Amalaki powder or fresh fruit ? and

by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

You can mix the powder in fruit juice or water, smoothies or any food you prefer, or you can encapsulate it. I personally have never had the fresh fruit so I'm not sure what would be the best way to prepare it! You might be able to find some info. online!
