Liver Cleanse Tincture

Herbal Mixes: Liver Cleanse Tincture

Contains: Indian gooseberry/amalaki, turmeric, ginger, dandelion leaf, licorice root, burdock root, milk thistle seed, hawthorn berries, Eleuthero Root, astragalus root, St. John’s Wort.

Precaution: Not recommended to use during pregnancy or nursing.

How to make it~

Fill a clean glass canning jar 1/3 full with dried herbs. Add vodka up to one inch to the top. Screw lid on tightly and store in a cool, dark place. Shake 3-7 times a week. The tincture needs to sit at least 2-6 weeks. Strain tincture and pour into a colored glass bottle, closing the lid tightly. Alcohol tinctures will last 2-3 years. Tinctures need to be kept in a cool, dark place such as a cabinet.
Why use vodka? Water rolls off the liver where alcohol goes straight to it taking the herbs with it. Dosage regimens are documented at the end of the following article.

To make enough tincture to last 6 months you will need 1lb of Liver Cleanse Tincture. This will fill three quart jars 1/3 full of the tincture mix. Once the tincture is ready there should be around two quarts of liquid left which should last for 6 months. This calculation is based on taking 1/2 tsp. of tincture 4 times daily. A 1/2 lb of Liver Cleanse Tincture will make enough to last 3 months with using the same calculations as above.

Fatty Liver and Ugly Toes

My husband spent many of his young years on fishing boats in Alaska. The life of a professional fisher is not easy. Their days were 18 to 22 hours on their feet fishing, and they would be out on the boat from 2 week to a month at a time.

Life was hard and made for real men, but it also made for toe fungus. Wearing the same shoes, and sometimes running out of socks, feet would get wet. White nails began to grow as the fungus grew with strength. Toe fungus is not one of these things that just go away if you ignore it, but more people try. James and I got married a few years later. I took one look at his toe nails and I was determined to get rid of it. So I found some natural remedies and gave them to him, but he was used to having the fungus, and was not as determined as I was to get rid of it. With any aliment, it takes consistence to get rid of it. After a few years he wanted to get serious and get rid of the fungus, so he went to the doctor and got some medicine. He took it for three months. It got better and was almost gone. He ran out of the medicine but kept his feet clean and dry. It came back fast and with a vengeance. He went back to the doctor and got more medicine, it worked but not as well as the first time, and the moment the stopped taking it, the fungus was worst than ever, and not only that but he always seemed to be stressed out, grouchy and sometimes even angry.

I knew that this was not him and there was something wrong, so I started to research. I knew that certain medications have a adverse action on the liver, but I did not know that anti-fungal like Ketoconazole, and anti-TB medicines like Rifampicin and Pyrazinamide were at the top of the list of liver killers. I knew James was in trouble and I wanted to know how bad he was and what I could do to help him, so I started to researched the symptoms of liver problems.

Here are a few of the symptom you can have: constipation, chronic gastritis, morning sickness, hepatitis, cirrhosis, Hepatomegaly, skin and eyes acquire a yellowish tinge and the urine turns dark yellow, anemic, nauseating feeling, light colored stools, irritable bowels or irregular bowel movements, swelling under the right lower ribs, painful breathing, curved and whitish look of nails, nose bleeding, and easy bruises as it shows liver abnormality and deficiency of proteins, and also frequent headaches, dizziness, spasms, irritability, depression, anger, stress, PMS, hormonal problems, acne, skin rashes or skin problems, and tiredness.

He had many of the symptoms, so I started researching everything liver. Did you know a fully grown liver is the size of a football and the biggest organ of the body? And that many people live with less than three quarters of their liver working? Did you know that it is not only an organ but also the largest gland in the body? Your liver is one of the most important components your body has. It is also the only organ that can rebuild itself. To rebuild a liver completely takes 18 to 24 months, because that is how long the liver cells live.

The liver has many functions from manufacturing proteins, synthesizing, storing, and processing (metabolizing) fats (used for energy), metabolizing and storing carbohydrates, which are used in blood that red blood cells and the brain use, forming and secreting bile, and absorbing vitamins A, D, E, and K. The liver also eliminates the potentially harmful biochemical products produced by the body, detoxifies drugs, alcohol, and environmental toxins.

Two to six months is a good start to get a good cleanse and to detoxify your liver. Everyone is different with detoxification depending on what they eat and what they are around. People eating organic food and living a low chemical life will recover much faster than say, a painter or someone that has been on prescription medications with serious side effects, and eats non organic. Life can get bad quick when your liver is not working well because your blood passes through your liver but does not get recharged properly. This can make you have fatigue, toxemia, and chronic diseases. A healthy liver balances your life and gives you the quality of living. Having a bad liver can literally take the joy and excitement in life and turn it into impatiences and anger. So how do you know when your liver cleansing program is complete? Your skin will be more lustrous, vision will be better, skin will be free from red blotches and itchy spots, clarity in the brain, you'll have more energy and a sense for tomorrow.

Regenerating the liver takes longer than detoxification. You will feel better because of the detoxification will have given your liver the clean house it needs to start rebuilding, but it needs to be nourished and well taken care of while it is rebuilding. Here are some things that help your liver along: eating nourishing and organic foods whenever you can, staying away for chemicals, drinking 8 cups of water an day, taking nourishing, anti-oxidants, and using blood purifying herbs and foods.

I researched herbs to find the perfect combination for my man to take. I made a tincture and he started taking it. Within a few days I could already tell a difference. He was relaxed for the first time in months. I was so excited!!! I knew we had a long way to go but we were well on our way to the old James. One month later he is still taking my homemade Liver Tincture and doing well. He plans to continue to do take a dropper full (1/2 tsp) 3 to 5 times a day for 3 to 6 months then a dropper full 1 to 2 times a day for 2 years.

Life is good and living life with joy, excitement, and a purpose for tomorrow makes it even better. Don’t give up if you are sick. Research!!! . . . and live the quality of life you can.

For Jame's toenail fungus, I am coming up with something GREAT!!! I will let you guys in on it when I get it perfected.

Refrigeration if apple cider vinegar tincture
by Virginia Moore on May 11, 2013

I received my herbs yesterday. I made 2 jars, one with vodka and one with apple cider(with mother). I then read that apple cider tinctures need to be refrigerated, so I put the mason jar in the refrigerator. I am now wondering, did it mean refrigerate after I had extracted the liquid? If so is it too late to put in the cabinet with my vodka tincture? Thank you.

Re: Refrigeration if apple cider vinegar tincture
by Bulk Herb Store on May 14, 2013

It doesn't need to be kept in the fridge while it is "brewing" and I would just take it out and set it in the kitchen cupboard, and once it is finished and the herbs are strained out, you want to store it in the fridge for maximum shelf life.

Acne
by Ann on May 8, 2013

Would this be your first pick for acne? I'm new to your site and am looking for a solution, topical or external, for my son who is 23. My husband deals with toenail fungus and psoriasis, and I am looking for a solution for him as well. I'm excited to find such a website. Thanks!

    Re: Acne
by Bulk Herb Store on May 10, 2013

Personally this would be my first pick for using internally. You can also try things like burdock tea washes and bentonite clay masks to help externally. The Liver Cleanse would be especially good for your husband's toenail fungus and psoriasis. Also check out the article "Fatty Liver and Ugly Toes" or "Fight Foot Fungus" under Articles on our website!

Recommendations?
by MariaG on Apr 17, 2013

My husband is coming off of his 3rd round of antibiotics in the last 6 months for various infections. At this point, I'm pretty sure his liver and immune system are all but destroyed. Would you recommend this tincture, the detox +, or both?

    Re: Recommendations?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 30, 2013

If it was me I would do both, and I would also take the ImLife Tincture to rebuild my immune system after the cleanses.

Did I make a mistake?
by Hannah on Apr 13, 2013

I have been giving my kids the liver cleanse tincture from the making babies book, made with glycerine. ( my kids love it) I had let my midwife take a look at the recipe and she thought it would be fine for the kids. But after reading some of the comments I'm wondering if I have been doing the right thing. My kids are 3, 4 1/2, 8 and 10. Should I not be going it to the 3 and 4 yr old? I'm not taking it because I'm nursing. I know my husband needs to cleanse his liver. Should I get him the liver cleanse tincture or can I make the liver cleanse recipe from the book and but use vodka this time?

Re: Did I make a mistake?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 30, 2013

If you did not see any negative affects in the children, it is probably fine. I would not give them the adult dosage however! You can either buy our premixed herbs for your husband or you can make your own from the book and the vodka will make it work faster but the glycerin will also work!

How much?
by Deb on Apr 12, 2013

I believe this liver cleanse is exactly what my husband needs. You mentioned to take it 4 times a day for 3-6 months; knowing my husband and his crazy work schedule, will it be effective if we take it only once or twice a day?? Thank you for all the education you share!!

Liver cleanse
by Amy Konz on Apr 5, 2013

I have started the liver cleanse for a couple of weeks, but I have had stomach pain and do not feel well. Is that side effected of the cleanse? I want to stick with this but not sure if this will get better or not. Thanks for your time

    Re: Liver cleanse
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 30, 2013

I have never heard of this as a side effect, however, if it is a continuing problem your body may not be able to handle the cleanse and you may need to stop doing it to see if your stomach gets better or if it has nothing to do with the cleanse.

Vinegar without the mother
by Anonymous on Apr 1, 2013

I'm buying this for my dad who is a missionary in a third world country. He has no access to vinager with the mother in it and we are wondering if apple cider vinegar without the mother will work! Thoughts?

    Re: Vinegar without the mother

With the mother is best but it can most definitely be made using the vinegar without the mother.

how many different tinctures at one time?
by DIANE on Mar 26, 2013

Cann I take the Liver Cleanse tincture as well as a Kidney Clean tincture I plan to make out of Burdock, Cats Claw and Coron Silk -at the same time? Or is this too much to do at one time?

Re: how many different tinctures at one time?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 30, 2013

I would suggest doing some research to see if these herbs are safe to use together. Besides that just be careful you don't try and detox your body to fast!

adding tincture to hot tea?
by Debbie G. on Mar 26, 2013

Hello! I am almost ready to order your Liver Detox... I've read that it tastes terrible. Would it change the properties of the tincture if I were to mix it with a cup of hot tea to help disguise the taste? Thanks!

Re: adding tincture to hot tea?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 30, 2013

Adding it to tea will make it less potent, so I would only use a small amount of tea, or you can make it with vegetable glycerin instead of vodka for a sweeter, less bitter taste. If you have already made it with vodka you can make another batch with glycerin and mix equal amounts of the two finished tinctures together as well!

Liver Cleanse Tincture
by Betty Martinez on Mar 11, 2013

I have been trying for several years to take down my very high LDL Cholesterol without using the Dr. recommended drugs (I react badly to them). I also had chronic constipation even though I eat a very good, organic, home grown diet. I began the liver cleanse tincture 2 1/2 months ago and just got blood results back: My LDL Cholesterol went down 75 points and the constipation is gone! I am excited to see what other benefits the Lord blesses with!
Thank you!!!

how old?
by Anonymous on Mar 9, 2013

I am curious to know how old a child should be before being able to take a liver cleanse? I have a younger child that has been dealing with eczema since birth, and i believe a part of the problem is her liver.
thank you! I love your site.

    Re: how old?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 26, 2013

I Personally would give it to a 3 year old child as long as it was made with glycerin and not vodka! It is always best to check with a Doctor before giving anything medicinal to a child.

Side effects
by Stacy on Feb 28, 2013

Dear Shoshanna, thank you so much for all the advice and the herbs available here. About the liver cleanse tincture: some cleanses mean a lot of loose stools for a while, for some people even diarrhea. Is this true for the liver cleanse tincture? If so I will need to plan for a good time for that. Thank you !

    Re: Side effects
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 19, 2013

We haven't heard of anybody that it caused diarrhea for them, however we can't guarantee it won't, just because herbs don't always affect everybody the same!

Liver Cleanse ingredients
by Lynn Taggart on Feb 27, 2013

Actually I have a question. Many years ago I took capsules of St Johns Wort and within 5 to 6 days had a terrible reaction. Started with hives and ended up with very swollen fingers and muscle aches so bad I couldn't walk. I have stayed away from it since. Do you think the little bit of St Johns Wort in your liver cleanse would cause an allergic reaction? I really would like to take the cleanse - but maybe I could make my own by leaving the SJW out? Thank you for your help!

    Re: Liver Cleanse ingredients
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 19, 2013

I can't say for sure but there is a chance it could cause a reaction if you are extremely allergic to it. You could either try starting with a small dose and see if you have a reaction, or just mix your own!

Liver cleanse
by JT on Feb 26, 2013

Hello,

My fiancee started taking the liver cleanse yesterday and has developed breast pain, sweating, ear pain, and blisters in her mouth as well as some other symptoms she didn't want to tell me about. Is this normal for this tincture to cause these symptoms? And is it safe for her continue taking it?

thanks,
JT

    Re: Liver cleanse
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 19, 2013

Only rarely do people experience such dramatic symptoms and usually it means either they are allergic to one or more of the herbs or they are really overloaded with toxins and they are coming out. If she thinks she is allergic, she should not continue taking it.

Fungus and Infertility!!
by Marcia on Feb 25, 2013

Hi Shoshanna, I read up on your topic of fungus toenails and bad liver....my husband and I have done the liver cleanse.
I've Had bad fungus toenails ever since I was around 12-14. My mom has it too, plus almost all my siblings. I have tried about everything I could think of to fight it off and it's been so discouraging. My mom did the strong medical drugs, prob. similar to what your husband took. After she took them her nails cleared up, but found out how bad it was for the liver so she didn't let me take it as well, later her fungus returned:( I am married now and do not want to carry it on to my children, I have a nephew and neice who already are starting the fungus toenails. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 2 years, which has also been a trying journey and sometimes I wonder if there's any connections?? Fungus and Infertility?? do you have any suggestions what I'm to do next? I'm not really into just trying more stuff, I'd like something that works!!
Thanks for listening!!

    Re: Fungus and Infertility!!
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 19, 2013

It is very possible for those two to be connected, and you might have either parasites or too much yeast (candida), those two go hand in hand and can cause problems with fertility. If it was me I would follow the recipes in Shoshanna's Making Babies book, you want to cut everything out of your diet that those two feed on, and I'd also do the Berry Herbal Brew and if I was really hard core I'd do a parasite/yeast (same treatment) cleanse too!

Hep C
by Spencer Burton on Feb 16, 2013

I was told that if you have Hep C that you should avoid all alcohol.

Yet your tincture is made with alcohol.

Would you comment on that?

    Re: Hep C
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 18, 2013

The reason most people use vodka for the tincture is because the vodka will go straight to the liver, taking the herbs with it. You can also make it with apple cider vinegar (preferably organic with the mother still in it), or you can use vegetable glycerin if you don't want to use alcohol.

Instead of Vodka
by Jhays on Feb 15, 2013

Is there something that can be used instead of vodka for the liver tincture that is just as good??

    Re: Instead of Vodka
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 18, 2013

You can use Organic Apple Cider Vinegar or Vegetable Glycerin which won't work quite as fast as the vodka but will still do the same thing!

kind of alcohol
by Christy on Jan 31, 2013

Do you have to use vodka for this tincture? I make Kombucha and was wondering if I could use that instead of vodka. I am afraid I will not like the taste with the vodka in it.

Thank you for your time!

    Re: kind of alcohol
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 12, 2013

I don't know how Kombucha would work for a tincture. Some other things you can use instead of vodka would be apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin.

Can you take this with Detox+?
by Mindy on Jan 29, 2013

I was wondering if you can take this with Detox+? I have fibromyalgia, and recently was reading about it may be caused by toxins in the liver. I was also looking at your Detox+ and am thinking I need to do that also. Can you take them together? Or should I do the Detox+ first, then the Liver Cleanse? Thanks!

Re: Can you take this with Detox+?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 12, 2013

You can do both at the same time, however I would personally start with the Detox+ first just to ensure that my body doesn't get overloaded with toxins.

Is the liver cleanse safe for children?
by Angela on Jan 22, 2013

I just made up a batch of the liver cleanse tincture. I was wondering if it is safe to be given to my 6 and 8 year old in small doses. If so, should I make a bottle with apple cider vinegar rather than the vodka base? We are so excited to see results. We love your site!

Re: Is the liver cleanse safe for children?
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 1, 2013

If I had a 6 and 8 yr. old with liver problems, I would give them some in small doses. Most sources don't recommend using vodka for children so if you don't want to use it, you can use apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin.

glycerin tincture

Are liver cleanse herbs effective when made into a glycerin tincture? If so, what would be a proper dosage? Thanks.

    Re: glycerin tincture
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 29, 2013

Yes, while glycerin tinctures aren't as strong as vodka tinctures, they are still quite effective! You can find dosage suggestions on the Liver Cleanse page toward the bottom of the article!

I need a substitution for the substitution...
by blue j on Jan 11, 2013

I have multiple allergies and need to avoid both vodka and vinegar. What would be another substitute? Would it be best to use glycerine or perhaps make it into a tea? If I did either of those options, would I then need to alter the amount taken per dose or increase the dosages?

Re: I need a substitution for the substitution...
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

Yes! You can use glycerin and you would want the same dosage as if you used vodka. Glycerin won't be as potent as vinegar or vodka but it will still work just fine!

Prescription Pain Meds
by Katrina on Jan 11, 2013

Thank you for all your awesome products! I have learned so much through your videos, articles, and the books you recommend. I am making my first tincture, the Liver Cleanse Tincture. It's for my husband and my dad (I'm in the child-bearing and nursing years so lemon juice, garlic and healthy eating for me:); my question is my dad has been on prescription pain meds for years for 3 collapsed discs in his back, and would be taking them while doing the cleanse- is there any counterindications with that? I know the cleanse will help, but his liver will be constantly attacked by the meds, just wanted make sure it will be safe to do the cleanse/rebuild. Thank you and God bless!

    Re: Prescription Pain Meds
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 29, 2013

I would suggest asking his Dr. before doing the cleanse, and if I did decide to do it, I'd make sure to take it no less then 2 hrs. before or after the meds. have been taken.

Liver cleanse (question)
by Skye Petersen on Jan 3, 2013

How much do I give my 8 year old daughter and my 10 year old son and my eleven year old old daughter? My 8 year old has some major damage done to her liver. Is it also safe for 3 and 7 year olds? Thank you.

    Re: Liver cleanse (question)
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

    Hello,
Thank you for your question! We are not doctors or professionals so we can't diagnose or give you any set dosage amounts and I would definitely seek professional advice before giving your child with liver damage this tincture although I do feel it would be helpful. If this was my situation though I would give them the liver tincture but at half the dose of an adult. Also I would not give the 3 year old tincture. I would wait until they are older.

liver cleanse and detox+
by Kristen on Jan 1, 2013

Can this be safely used in combination with your Detox+ mix? And at what age can you begin using this tincture? My toddler son was given ketoconazole cream for some skin problems he was having, and while he only took it a short while, now that I have been reading about its side effects, I'm concerned for what damage may have been done.

    Re: liver cleanse and detox+
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

Yes, you can use these together but I personally prefer using the Liver Cleanse then the Detox because you have to take them at least 1-2 hrs apart if you do them together. For your son I would recommend seeking out an Herbal Health Care professional and getting their advice on taking the tincture or possible another route of detoxing. Thank you!

Super potent liver cleanse
by Rachel on Dec 28, 2012

I bought a pound of the liver cleanse herbal mix to make some for my parents and for myself. In my excitement to make it I divided the mixture between 2 quart jars and filled them with a little hot water and a lot of vodka. Now since I am waiting for my tincture to brew I see that 1 pound should have made 3 quart jars! I was wondering after the six weeks of waiting is up and I strain off the herbs can i add maybe a cup or so more of plain vodka to make it last longer and be more diluted like it was supposed to be or should I still take the tincture as is?

Thansk :)

    Re: Super potent liver cleanse
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

You can divide the herbs out into another jar and have equal parts in all three adding some of the liquid into the 3rd jar as well and top all of them off with more vodka.

Enough for family
by Linda on Dec 25, 2012

I was thinking of giving this cleanse to my family which would include 7 people total. Do you think this is perfectly safe with children ages 10 & up?
Also, would 1/2 lb. be enough for all of us to do the job correctly? Thanks

    Re: Enough for family
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

Yes, your whole family could take this tincture! You will need more than a 1/2 lb though. Each person needs to do the cleanse for 3-6 months to do it correctly and a 1/2 lb will only be enough for 1 person to do the cleanse 3 months and a 1lb will be enough for 1 person to do it 6 months so you will need either a 1/2lb or a 1lb per person.

Useable with detox+
by Robert on Dec 1, 2012

Or will there be any need to use both products. Or will one suffice.

    Re: Useable with detox+

Both would be best to do since they each have different organs they clean and I personally would do the Liver Cleanse then the Detox +.

It is a strong tincture but since you take such a small amount its pretty fast and easy! You can also make it with vinegar or glycerin if you'd prefer.

by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 22, 2013

Personally I would give it to a pre-teen or teenager as I would an adult but for younger children just to be cautious I would seek the help of an Herbal Health Care Provider. If the child is younger than 10 I'd only give them 1/2 the amount that an adult would take.

liver damage
by Kim on Oct 18, 2012

I am excited to order this and try it. I have been living without my spleen for 38 years and with all that is mentioned in this article I know that my liver must be suffering greatly as I have been sick for many years. Recently diagnosed with lupus and I have skin cancer. I am afraid of meds because I know many damage the liver. My instinct tells me that there is a natural way to take care of many of my ailments. So glad I found your site.

Questions about the Liver Cleanse Tinture
by Carrie L on Oct 16, 2012

Can someone take this while nursing? And how much does this make? My husband and I are both interested in doing this but I have no idea how much would be needed to get started. And I am nursing, so would want to make sure all the herbs are safe for baby but am not completely sure how to find that out either. Thank you for any help!

Re: Questions about the Liver Cleanse Tinture
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 15, 2013

We recommend not doing any cleanses or detoxing while pregnant just because the toxins are then released into your system and will try to find a way out even through the baby or breast milk. The half lb will make enough for 3 months and the 1lb will make enough for 6 months. Thanks for the questions!

Excited!
by Anrdea on Oct 16, 2012

I bought this liver cleanse tincture, and I have to wait 6 weeks now. My question is, can I continue to take the tincture if I get pregnant? Thank you!

by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 15, 2013

We do not suggest cleansing and detoxing if your pregnant.

Apple Cider Vinegar is the next best thing to use besides vodka. Have a nice day!

I would suggest Apple Cider Vinegar with the "mother" in it.

Liver Cleanse WORKS!!!!!!!!
by Arielle on Oct 2, 2012

Just wanted to let you know how much I love this tincture...well, once I got past the horrible taste of it that is!!!lol!! I was misdiagnosed with several different things this past year until finally my doctor got it right and tested me for Lyme disease. I was put on several different antibiotics for almost 2 straight months!! YUCK!!! Needless to say, I felt just terrible during and after all the medications wrecking havoc on my body...I was soooo fatigued and was hardly able to do the dishes without having to sit down to take a break! I've ordered stuff from you before and had great success so I went looking on your site for some sort of detox thing to help me feel better and flush the harsh meds out of my system. I came across Liver Cleanse and decided to try it out!!! I made it and waited (rather impatiently) for the tincture to finish! After only a few days using that and the Pysillium seed I was feeling 100% restored to my old self, and I had soooo much more energy!!! I'm still taking just a dropper full a day now and I'm feeling great!!! Thank you soo much for making this product available!!!! Many Blessings to you!!!!!

by Clementina Fernandez on Sep 22, 2012

hi, we read about your remedy, and we have a question..do you know of any herbal remedy that can help with pain in the ovaries? or do you think that this will help with that symptom?

In my personal opinion a Liver Cleanse is always good to do but what I would suggest is Red Raspberry tea!

Question about liver cleanse
by Becky on Sep 3, 2012

Is this tincture ok to take if trying to conceive since there is alcohol in the tincture? Also, does it matter what type of vodka is bought- can I just go with the cheapest stuff? Thanks!

    Re: Question about liver cleanse
by Bulk Herb Store on Jan 24, 2013

I would suggest to not do the cleanse because you really should not cleanse while pregnant or nursing and if you are in the middle of the cleanse and get pregnant you would need to stop the cleanse.
The cheap vodka is fine just be sure it is at least 80-90 proof!

Take while nursing?
by KateP on Aug 10, 2012

Can I take this and cleanse while nursing my 4 month old?

    Re: Take while nursing?
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 11, 2012

No. It is best to stay off any type of cleanse while pregnant/nursing.

A substitute?
by Kim on Aug 9, 2012

Is there another substitute for the vodka? Like regular rubbing alcohol, or something like that?

    Re: A substitute?
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 11, 2012

The best substitute is Raw Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother still in it!

Liver Tinture and Pregnancy
by Elizabeth on Jul 25, 2012

I just got your Liver Tinture in the mail the other day, and my tinture is brewing at the moment. I got it for my husband and I to start us off with a whole cleansing process, but I just found out today I'm pregnant. :) So does that mean that I have to wait nine months, or longer because I want to breastfeed to do the Liver Cleanse? Thanks!

    Re: Liver Tinture and Pregnancy
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 11, 2012

Yes you do have to wait! You do not want to do any type of cleanse while pregnant and nursing.

Ok while nursing?
by Kari Martin on Jun 12, 2012

Hi all,

I have taken dandelion and milk thistle while pregnant and nursing. I would love to do this also, but I'm wondering if this can also be done while nursing? If not, would you please recommend what I can use that will help? My liver is a mess and I don't want to quit nursing.

Thanks!

    Re: Ok while nursing?
by Bulk Herb Store on Nov 21, 2012

No. While pregnant/nursing detoxes should be avoided. Drinking a warm glass of lemon water in the morning before eating is a great way to help the liver! Squeeze the juice of one organic lemon into a cup of warm water and drink down. Do this every morning to help your liver run smoothly and just a tip use a straw to drink it with. The acidity of the lemon is hard on your teeth.

Love the Liver Tincture!
by The Wood Family on Jun 7, 2012

We tried your liver tincture for my husband and it works! He had a really bad case of some kind of dry skin on his head and face for two years and we tried practically everything from creams to expensive shampoos and nothing worked until we ran across your article on the liver tincture. We tell everyone about it and have even had request on making some more tincture. Thanks for everything! What a blessing you are for our family!

This product has helped my hands
by David on Jun 7, 2012

I paint houses for a living. I am around such things as mineral spirits, kerosene, oil paints, paint dust, etc.

In 2010 my hands started cracking and took forever to heal. The process would repeat. Then I started having terrible itching on my hands. The only relief was to put them under hot water. I tried this liver cleanse tincture on the advice of a friend. After about two weeks of completing one round, my hands are significantly better. A lot less itching and the skin on the palm of my hands is softer. My right hand still has some dry skin and itching, but it is greatly improved.

I just received another round of this cleanse and am going to see if round two will solve the residual issues.

Is it safe?
by Andrea on Jun 6, 2012

I am going to be getting this for my husband and wanted to know if it would be safe for me to take. I have about 8-10 weeks left in my pregnancy and wanted to know if I could take it after labor and while I am breastfeeding? Thanks for any guidance you can give in this area.

    Re: Is it safe?
by Bulk Herb Store on Nov 21, 2012

No you should not take it while pregnant/nursing because when you detox the toxins are released and they would then find there way out of the body and one way would be through the milk and you do not want your baby drinking milk with toxins in it!

Liver Cleanse
by Lestie Zachary on May 1, 2012

How many times can you reuse the liver cleanse ingredients in a ticture? Do you just strain off the alcohol part and reuse the herbs?

    Re: Liver Cleanse
by Bulk Herb Store on Nov 7, 2012

Great Question, Lestie! I usually pour up 2 tincture bottles worth of liquid after it has been soaking with the herbs for two weeks. I fill up the main jar the rest of the way with vodka to soak for the remaining 4 weeks. The herbs don't have many properties left after 6 weeks (they're all in the alcohol now), so I strain off all the good liquid and discard the "used up herbs"

My Liver is Healed!
by So Thankful on Feb 17, 2012

Your Liver Tincture Mixture is like an answer to prayer. For over 10 years I've had liver damage and had no idea it can actually be healed. God bless you for your work!

Thanks
by Alex on Jul 5, 2011

Wow, this combination of herbs really works. I made the liver cleanse tincture and immediately started using it, two weeks later I noticed that my energy level had gone up. I would clean my house, cook, do the laundry than think of what else I should do with all that energy lol. I am not even kidding, it really works ;)

I am brewing my first tincture, ever!
by Carla on Jan 31, 2011

And it happens to be your Liver Cleanse. It’s due out in a couple more days, and I’m pretty excited to try it. I’ve got big plans for this tincture, including my fourteen year old son (who can’t seem to gain weight, and has serious skin break outs on his face and back) and myself (who it’s looking like is deeply in Adrenal Fatigue.) I’m hoping to cure my sixteen year old daughters toenail fungus (which interestingly, she was born with … hmmm, that should tell me a lot about the state of my body, even way back then.)

This is only one part of the changes we are doing in our family, including herbal/fruit smoothies. Just a little at a time, but it’s a beginning.

Anyway, I am thankful to God to have found your store. And really excited for this tincture to finish brewing.

Keep the YouTube videos coming, they are giving me the confidence I need to do this!

Please, take a moment and comment on this product.

I was so excited when my mom first told me about your site. I have been looking to find "natural ways" to take my vitamins and am looking forward to using some of the herbs my mom has already purchased. Oh, I also love that there are videos so that I am not "winging it" when it comes to what I am supposed to mix. You guys are freakin' awesome!!
