Premixed Remedies: Mama's Red Raspberry Brew

Contains: Red raspberry, alfalfa, nettle, peppermint

When I was carrying my babies, I kept a pitcher of Red Raspberry tea made up in the refrigerator so I could drink several glasses a day.

Red Raspberry leaf has a medically proven and trusted track record in helping strengthen the womb of a pregnant woman, and it is also reported to be effective in restoring the womb after delivering.

I mixed in some Alfalfa so I could double the nutritional value of my daily tea. If I felt bloated, like I was holding water, I would add Nettle leaf to the tea. Peppermint was added for flavor and to aid digestion.

Ladies, while you are fixing some up for yourself, serve your man some too. Red Raspberry has very positive medicinal affects on men as well. Increased fertility for instance. That's why animal breeders add Red Raspberry to feed to increase male fertility. Oh, and they'll love the taste. Your man may grow to like it above all other teas. It's one of the favorites in our house.

Directions

You can make a cup of hot tea by adding 1 or 2 teaspoons of the premixed herbs to 1 cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes, strain, and add honey (raw is best) to taste.

To make a pitcher of tea for storing in the refrigerator, use 10 teaspoons or so of the premixed herbs for 8 cups of boiling water. Let it cool for a while and strain. Discard the used herbs, and put the tea in the refrigerator to drink over ice or reheated.

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

"Seven years ago there was a flurry of warnings over the web not to use large amounts of raspberry leaf(only European raspberry) during early pregnancy. I always take the safe road, so I cautioned pregnant ladies to only drink a cup or two a day of raspberry until they were 5 months along. Now trusted researchers go on record as saying that Raspberry is safe for pregnant women. Two sources that are respected and helpful are GrowingLife.com and AmericanPregnancy.org." Debi Pearl

  • This dry herb mixture can also be made into a tincture. As a tincture it would be more effective than as a tea. However, we prefer it as a tea because of its great flavor.
  • Mama's Red Raspberry Brew can be used to benefit men, women (including before, during or after pregnancy, and nursing), and children.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose.
  • As is the case with most herbs, this mixture should be stored in a dark, dry, and cool place. Refrigeration or freezing is great, but certainly not necessary. Following these suggestions will delay the loss of its highly valued nutritional and medicinal properties.

Add Cinnamon

I used this for my last pregnancy, and am here to buy another batch for the next one! I also add a dash of cinnamon to the tea for blood sugar reasons. And it tastes great!

Helps with Pregnancy
by interch on Oct 1, 2009

I absolutely love this tea! I’d heard about red raspberry leaves helping with pregnancy and delivery, but only used it sporadically. I always had very long labors. Finally, with my 5th baby I decided to drink Mama’s Red Raspberry brew every single day of my pregnancy. I had less morning sickness, less contractions during pregnancy, and my labor lasted only 4 hours! Thanks for providing quality herbs and information to help us use them. (For the person who requested the mix without peppermint…I suggest buying the herbs separate and making your own mix. The Bulk Herb Store tells you the proportions of herbs to mix.)

Better with Cinnamon & Honey
by Editor on Jun 2, 2009

I just wanted to share my (current!) favorite way to drink Mama's Red Raspberry Brew:

1 Tbs. Red Raspberry mix (I like my tea strong)
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp. raw honey
6-8 oz. hot water

I place the cinnamon stick in the bottom of the cup and use a paper towel as a tea bag. I let the tea steep for about 10 minutes, remove the "tea bag" and cinnamon, then add honey to taste. The cinnamon adds a wonderful flavor!

Thank you!

It doesn't need honey!

...I am also enjoying your "Mama's Red Raspberry Blend" tea. Just delicious. It doesn't need any honey-it is perfect the way it is.

Thank you!!

A Very Tasty Tea
by Editor on Jun 2, 2009

My husband just ordered me Mama's Red Raspberry Brews, with instructions to drink several cups a day. (I have been having some difficulty with my second pregnancy). I was hesitant because I am not very reliable if my "medicine" tastes bad. Well, I received my tea yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised to find out how tasty it is! I made up a huge pitcher and will keep it filled in the fridge for the remainder of this pregnancy. I am praying that it strengthens my uterus for this upcoming labor... I will keep you informed. Thank you again, for great products and a very tasty tea- now it will be a pleasure to do as the doctor (my husband) ordered! Blessings!

What is variety is the red rasberry?
by Sarah on Nov 30, 2006

I was reading in a book you recommend, "The Naturally Healthy Pregnancy", and it said to be careful of the Rubus idaeus variety of red raspberry leaves. I have had 2 miscarriages in the past with a baby born in between. My husbnad and I are planning on trying again. Our son was born c-section, and then a miscarriage and my body is having a hard time recovering. In the book women who had repeated miscarriages were cautioned not to take Rubus idaeus. Do you have any suggestions in this area and what is the variety of red raspberry you carry?

red raspberry without the pepermint
by Lindsey Richmond on Nov 8, 2006

I would buy it without the pepermint if it was offered. I was told pepermint can decrease your breast milk. I am nuring but am very interested in the raspberry brew.

Sounds good, I have a question though!
by Margaret on Sep 24, 2006

I am planning to order the Mama's brew shortly, but I have been wondering about something.

I have heard that alfalfa is useful in preventing excess bleeding after birth, and as I hemorrhaged a good deal after my second child was born (probably due to an overextended uterus, he was 10 lbs!), I am very much hoping this is true.
Any thoughts? Or are there other herbs with an anti-hemorrhage quality that i might try during this pregnancy?

Alfalfa does have some blood clotting properties. For that reason, you may want to consider consuming it. Red Raspberry, however, is THE herb for preparing the uterus to deliver, and for recovery after the birth. If excessive bleeding occurs during or after the birth, Cayenne is the herb we'd use.

I drank this tea faithfully for my second pregnancy and what a difference in labor. It went so smoothly and with much less pain. The doctors and nurses were so impressed they wanted to have the baby channel there! I'm now ordering it for my third pregnancy and excited to get started! Thanks for your great products

Red Raspberry Brew
by Barbara Siron on Aug 23, 2006

Hello again!
I would like to know if I could get the brew without the peppermint. My husband and I both love raspberry tea (herbal from the grocery store-your is going to be much cheaper in long run) I love peppermint but he does not. How about it? I buy raspberry tea a lot and would love to try yours, without the peppermint.
Thanks, again!

This may be a good idea. However, in order for us to offer it, we'd need to know there is a substantial interest in such a mix or variation (at least more than one request). The batches of the premixed remedies are quite large, therefore we cannot make one just for one or a few customers.

Good evening. I have been drinking your Rise and Shine Tea almost every day since I received it. It's wonderful! I have NEVER had a tea that I liked that much. I've cut down on coffee, and have sent several bags to friends and family so they can try it and order their own.
