Very important question!
by Rochelle on Apr 1, 2014

Is the series appropriate for someone who wants to get pregnant and hasn't been able to.

This series is packed with research about fertility, conception, morning sickness, pregnancy, birth, nursing, postpartum issues, losing weight, and more.

Amazing book and great dvds!

I am getting married in 6 months, and really want to get myself in great shape for, well, making babies :) This series is so inspiring, colorful, and engaging! I Love it!!

Great resource!
by NaomiM on Jan 24, 2014

I received this from a blog giveaway toward the end of my 3rd pregnancy and enjoyed reading through the book and watching some of the videos. Now, I am pregnant with my 4th and have looked even closer at it. While being sick recently (not pregnancy related) I was able to watch a lot of the videos. It provided entertainment for my 2 older children as well, and they LOVE "watching Shoshanna". The recipes look so fresh, delicious, and REAL. (as in, real food, because it is!). I have made the vitamin B tincture and it has given me so much energy and I feel so leveled out, hormonally speaking. Thank you for such a great resource for pregnancy, it is packed full of great ideas!

Question and praise
by BethanyJo on Jan 9, 2014

I so love this series! It was so helpful to see the exercises in example, not just reading how to do them, thank you so much, and thanks to your husband's participation- my husband and I enjoyed watching your teamwork then practicing later^^
My question is about nursing, specifically In regard to the recommendation of the doctor in an interview, in which he said he recommends not drinking milk while nursing; does this also include excluding all dairy - yogurt, cheese? I have a Difficult time getting enough protein from meats, so now I'm using yogurts and cheeses; just wanted to know what is the healthiest way for baby and me^^ thanks again for a wonderful piece of work!

Love this book!
by Annie on Dec 28, 2013

I can't say enough about how great this book is! I love the recipes, the photos, and all the great tips for pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, after pregnancy and baby care. I would like to know if the vitamin tincture for breast feeding is the same vitamin tincture to use for a daily multi-vitamin during pregnancy? If not, what would be a great multi-vitamin tincture to use daily? Thanks so much.

    Re: Love this book!
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 30, 2013

Hello, Yes the vitamin tincture for breast feeding would be great to use throughout pregnancy! You could also try the 'Vitamin B Tincture' on page 87 of the Making Babies Book. Thanks!

by Willow on Dec 24, 2013

I was wondering, would you recommend the eating plan and things that Shoshanna does after her pregnancy in this series for those who are just simply working at losing weight? What would you recommend tweaking for those who don't have to deal with the hormone changes to be able to utilize this series for more than just pregnancy?

    Re: Curious
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 30, 2013

Going Gluten-free and Casein-free for a time would give your body a rest from the foods that are hard for your body to digest and process, helping your body to function better and easier which might help with losing weight.

Book vs DVD
by heather on Nov 29, 2013

Hi there,
I was just wondering if the Making Babies book and dvd had basically the same information contained within and were just presented in print vs video or is there also different information? I have the book already and am considering the dvd (especially since they are on sale today) but wanted to know this before I purchase. Is there a difference in content between the two? Thanks so much for your time!

    Re: Book vs DVD
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 9, 2013

The DVD contains pretty much the same information as the book however it goes into more depth as to what the reasons are and goodness behind the ingredients in the recipes, as well as a great step by step video of each of the recipes to help explain how to make the delectable goodies. :)
However it also contains many interviews with several leading doctors and midwives that answer the most popular and pertinent questions asked by pregnant women or mamas. Thanks!

Vitamins and Minerals
by Annie on Oct 26, 2013

I just got the Making Babies book and love the recipes, hints, tips and love that went into making it. I would like to know what brand of vitamins you use for folic acid, B-vitamins and omega fatty acids? There are so many different ones available and I know they are not created equal.

by Bulk Herb Store on Oct 29, 2013

Shoshanna made her own vitamin tinctures and just added a lot of nutritious herbs to her diet.

by Megan on Feb 4, 2013

The Making Babies Series is a priceless treasure! I am interested in midwifery so I thought the best place to start would be looking into a healthy pregnancy and I knew Shoshanna's book could give that to me. When I got the book and dvds I just soaked up the information like a spunge and enjoyed it so much! Every day it seems, I find myself looking through the book for a recipe or herbal recipe. I am still young, and not even married yet, but reading and watching this series makes me so excited about getting pregnant! I love this book and think that every young woman and women should own a copy!
Thank you Shoshanna for all your hard work to produce such an amazing series!!!

I seriously can't WAIT to own this!!!!
by Ivana Rivera on Nov 6, 2012

My first child I had complications, my diet was not right, was stressed and defiantly was not working out. I gave birth at a hospital and it was an okay experience. I wanted more, I didn't want to take the epidural but I seriously didn't have a choice. The nurses and doctors we're against me walking around, moving my hips, doing some very light yoga positions. I wanted to move around, my body was telling me to do that, I went against my body. I felt bad about that.

I took the epidural and fell asleep, not being engaged with what was happening to me and my body. Finally gave birth in a position my body didn't want to be in but had to do it because I was in the hospital. Doctor placed her on me and I couldn't believe my eyes, she was beautiful. The only hard thing was--they took her away from me. I wanted to continue holding her, wanted to feed her. Newborn stage was really rough, had a lot of belly issues, a lot of gas and I didn't know what to do. Nothing helped! I wish I would have known that there we're foods I could have avoided eating, herbs I could have taken, etc. etc, but hey you live and you learn! <3

Now, my beautiful daughter is three years old and she wants a baby "brudda" or "sista" husband and I are trying on getting pregnant this month, God willing!! This DVD series will defiantly get me on track with healthy eating. Even though, I'm on a better track now for sure but I feel like it can be even better. Herbs are amazing, essential oils are amazing. I want to use all alternatives for my next pregnancy/labor. I will be having a home birth with a midwife this time! :-)

I don't want to make anyone feel bad for giving birth in an hospital, me personally, I didn't have a great experience. God bless all the mommies out there, keep up the good work. <3 <3

Saving up money now to buy it soon!!!!

Must buy book!
by Bailey Geiger on Jul 18, 2012

The recipes and information in this book are wonderful. I never grow tired of reading and looking through it over and over again. I love cooking healthy for myself but ususally my sibling and friends shy away from my "healthy" recipes. However, once I began making these my family began venturing to try them and have absolutly LOVED every recipe I've made. The other day the little neighbor boy was over and smelled the gluten free choolate lover cupcakes I was making. He ask if he could have one and I waited as he took his first bite of warm cupcake. All of a sudden, his eyes lit up and he said, "They taste like they're filled with chocolate chips!" I just broke out laughing it made me so happy. He then ask to take one home for his older brother. That night when I feed them to my family I told them they had been Abel(the neighbor boy) approved and my little brother(the junk food KING) said they tasted TOO good to be any kind of healthy as he grabbed another...and then another.
I could go on and on with stories of the amazingly delicious recipes! My brother now asks when he sees me making something for them, "Is this a Shoshanna recipe?" with excitement in his eyes. I am no where near having kids but this is still an indespensable book for me, and I know I am keeping my body(and my family/friends bodies) healthy. Then, someday when I do have kids of my own I'll know what to do to keep them safe from chemicals and help then to grow strong. But for now, all I can say is eating gluten and casein free never tasted so GOOD!

Thank you for this wonderful book!

Awesome recipes!
by Jamie Green on Jun 21, 2012

When I first saw the Making Babies DVD and book coming out almost a year ago I was so excited! My husband and I were expecting our 1st baby in Nov. 2011. I waited with anticipation; and while I waited I did tones of reading about birth, delivery, and health for myself. God blessed us with a great pregnancy. The DVDs arrived a week before my due date. I watched with great joy knowing my time would soon be coming. LOL. I watched the last DVD having contractions and that night or I should say the next morning our son came into the world; oh what a joy it was! Our son is growing like a weed and oh so wonderful. I just finished reading the book (which I enjoyed the most out of the two); it will be staying in my kitchen with all those wonderful recipes. I love the coconut balls and can't wait to make the gluten free bread! This series has really encouraged me try new foods like asparagus; it's great!
As always it's great doing business with you and having such a reliable and trustworthy company. Oh, our 2 month old has been using the toilet now for two weeks and it just amazes my husband!

Great series pregnant or not!
by Jessica Glasner on Jun 20, 2012

I just had to write and thank Shoshanna for the Making Babies book and DVD's. So... if whoever gets this e-mail could pass it on to her, that would be awesome.

I am 22 years old and have two younger sisters (19 and 15 years old). None of us are married, but we are huge fans of Shoshanna's youtube videos. My sister and I (who share a college dorm room) bought a Bullet so we could make smoothies, and our sister still at home has been making several incredible salves and lotions that are blessing our entire family (and healing our skin!)

We recently found out about the Pearl's ministry and have been pouring over Preparing to be a Helpmeet and Made to be a Helpmeet for the past few months... these books have changed our whole family in a powerful way. We were all three homeschooled, but in Los Angeles, it can get pretty easy to get sucked into bad attitudes and just the world in general.

We have been so excited about the Making Babies DVD's... our mom ordered it for us for Christmas and we just finished watching it. Admittedly, none of us are pregnant, but there is no better time to start learning how to be healthy/be a good mom, right? Well, we could not stop watching! All four of us (mom included), were so immensely blessed--and we learned so much.

Tonight, we had the Chicken and Rice for dinner, with Chocolate Drops for desert, I can guarantee it will be a staple in our house from now on! My sister (the one who is 19) said that she learned more about really cooking from the DVD's than any other TV chef. And I totally agree. The recipes are so delicious, and so beautiful!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pregnancy and birth with us--we all teared up and are praying that God will give us equally lovely deliveries when our turn comes around=) Your sweetness and joy, your precious family, and your creativity are inspiring, a true gift.

Love the dvds!

Thank you, thank you so much for making this series. As a new mom and begining herbalist the advice in the book and instructional videos are really encouraging. Your ministry is truly a blessing to me. Blessings.

Love the Recipes!!!
by Julie Babb ~ Long Time Pearl Reader & Fan on May 29, 2012

I want to thank you for the great chocolate drop recipe. My three young children and I are eating no refined sugar for 30 days (I'll probably go longer) and I've been looking for some sweet treats we could make that use only honey, fruit, or maple syrup as the sweetener. I've also been trying to figure out a way to get coconut oil in my kids. The drops are a hit! And they help me with my sweet cravings. We have some tree nut allergies so first I just used the oil, honey and cocoa. My pickiest child just loves them and told me she likes them better than "regular chocolate." She keeps asking me for them! I've experimented a little and just now I made a batch with half honey and half maple syrup and we really like the results. I have also made one batch using chunky peanut butter mixed in and those are my favorite. Even when we aren't doing a "sugar free" month I am going to keep those in my freezer as a healthy and very yummy sweet treat. Thanks for giving us such a great and healthy treat!

From our Mailbox

Dear ones: Thank you so much for providing the opportunity to buy books and herbs at reasonable prices, along with the good information you have provided on this website. Using the books you provided, I was able to make a salve for my 3 year-old daughter which actually tames an itchy, red, dry rash on her hands that has plagued her for two years. I used the information you provided, along with the information from the books I ordered from you, and then herbs from my garden and woods to make this healthy skin salve (that's what our family calls it - we've all become believers after each of us has benefited from it!). I have long been frustrated with her rashes and have found nothing over-the-counter to actually diminish it, and eliminate the pain and itching. I thank the Lord for you and for his healing plants!

~Gina G.
