Mama's Milk Tea

Premixed Remedies: Mama's Milk Tea

  Out of stock

Here is a tea to help you nursing mamas increase your milk supply and the nutritional value of your milk.

Ingredients

Directions

I normally add 3 tablespoons of the premixed herbs to 2 cups of water. (This makes for a strong tea. You are welcome to use less than 3 tablespoons, if you find it too strong).

Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for no longer than 10 minutes. Strain off the herbs, and add raw honey, if desired. I found that drinking 3 - 6 cups a day increased my milk supply considerably. (I have drunk as much as 8 cups in one day with very good results). It's very important to stay hydrated while nursing by drinking lots of liquids. The tea helped in that as well.

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

  • This dry herb mixture can be made into a tincture. As a tincture, it would be even more effective than as a tea. Directions for making tinctures can be found on the Preparing Remedies page. Just remember to drink lots of water with it.
  • The mixture can also be ground up into powder and encapsulated.
  • Because of the Fenugreek, avoid using it internally during pregnancy.
  • This recipe is not just for nursing mamas. Because of the cleansing properties of these herbs, anyone can benefit from their cleansing effects on the liver, gall bladder and kidneys.
  • It can be used to benefit anyone: men, women (except during pregnancy), children and animals.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose.
  • As is the case with most herbs, this mixture should be stored in a dark, dry, and cool place. Refrigeration or freezing is great, but certainly not necessary. Following these suggestions will delay the loss of its highly valued nutritional and medicinal properties.

Hi!
I absolutely love your Mama's Red Raspberry Brew and Mama's Milk Tea. I just received your Elderberries from which I plan to make a tincture for cold and flu season. Thank you so much for your ministry.

A question....
by Sharla on Sep 29, 2006

I love your Mama's Brew, but I always make a gallon of it to drink as ice tea...could I do the same with Mama's Milk Tea? Would I use the same quantities as with the Raspberry blend?
Thanks

Yes, you can make a gallon using the same proportion of herb mix to water.

Answer to My Prayers
by Catherine on Jun 16, 2008

"Mama's Milk Tea has been an answer to my prayers. I was unable to nurse for a full year with my first two children, but now that I have Mama's Milk Tea my milk supply is staying ample for baby #3. A friend suggested that I turn it into a tincture so I take 3 tsps. per day. I added some peppermint to help with the flavor! Many thanks for the great products! I am one grateful momma!

I love your herbs! And I have never tasted better Peppermint. I've started mixing teas for friends, and they love your herbs, too. :) My kids (almost 3 and almost 2) caught a cold at church a few weeks ago, and I've been giving them plain peppermint tea to help clear their noses when they get too stuffy. They think it's the best treat, and love it. My daughter especially loves the Sleepy Time Tea with Chamomile flowers. It's become our nightly 'thing' to have a cup of tea and read a bedtime or Bible story. Also, the Nutritional Herbology book has been of great help to me, and since I've started using Red Raspberry in most of my teas, my not-so-fun monthly female cramps have almost disappeared! Thank you so much for offering your herbs at such wonderful prices. I can't find better prices anywhere.
