Mama's Red Raspberry Brew - Organic

Herbal Mixes: Mama's Red Raspberry Brew - made w/organic ingr.

Contains Natural Caffeine Free: Red raspberry, alfalfa, nettle, peppermint

When I was carrying my babies, I kept a pitcher of Red Raspberry tea made up in the refrigerator so I could drink several glasses a day.

Red Raspberry leaf has a medically proven and trusted track record in helping strengthen the womb of a pregnant woman, and it is also reported to be effective in restoring the womb after delivering.

I mixed in some Alfalfa so I could double the nutritional value of my daily tea. If I felt bloated, like I was holding water, I would add Nettle leaf to the tea. Peppermint was added for flavor and to aid digestion.

After your baby is born try some of Mama's Milk Tea It will help nursing mamas increase your milk supply and the nutritional value of your milk.

Ladies, while you are fixing some up for yourself, serve your man some too. Red Raspberry has very positive medicinal affects on men as well. Increased fertility for instance. That's why animal breeders add Red Raspberry to feed to increase male fertility. Oh, and they'll love the taste. Your man may grow to like it above all other teas. It's one of the favorites in our house.

Directions

You can make a cup of hot tea by adding 1 or 2 teaspoons of the premixed herbs to 1 cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes, strain, and add honey (raw is best) to taste.

To make a pitcher of tea for storing in the refrigerator, use 10 teaspoons or so of the premixed herbs for 8 cups of boiling water. Let it cool for a while and strain. Discard the used herbs, and put the tea in the refrigerator to drink over ice or reheated.

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

"Seven years ago there was a flurry of warnings over the web not to use large amounts of raspberry leaf(only European raspberry) during early pregnancy. I always take the safe road, so I cautioned pregnant ladies to only drink a cup or two a day of raspberry until they were 5 months along. Now trusted researchers go on record as saying that Raspberry is safe for pregnant women. Two sources that are respected and helpful are GrowingLife.com and AmericanPregnancy.org." Debi Pearl

  • This dry herb mixture can also be made into a tincture. As a tincture it would be more effective than as a tea. However, we prefer it as a tea because of its great flavor.
  • Mama's Red Raspberry Brew can be used to benefit men, women (including before, during or after pregnancy, and nursing), and children.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose.
  • As is the case with most herbs, this mixture should be stored in a dark, dry, and cool place. Refrigeration or freezing is great, but certainly not necessary. Following these suggestions will delay the loss of its highly valued nutritional and medicinal properties.

Fibroid tumors
by Anna on May 17, 2013

Hello! Can you tell me if this tea will help with shrinking fibroid tumors?

    Re: Fibroid tumors
by Bulk Herb Store on May 17, 2013

According to what I have read, Red Raspberry can be used to help with fibroid tumors by toning and strengthening the uterine wall. You can read that here, plus some other herbs that can be helpful:

Is this tea safe during 1st trimester?
by Marjorie H on May 5, 2013

I ordered the making babies series and this tea. However, after watching the DVD pre-pregnancy and reading recipe in the book: there was caution to take this tea during the first trimester due to chance of miscarriage. But I read above in the description of the herb and the research behind being able to take this tea as much as you like. So I'm a little confused. I'm healthy, I eat all organic and drink and use a lot of your herbs, however I hvnt just drank this tea. So my question is: am I safe to drink this tea when I am in my first trimester?

Thanks in advance :-)

Re: Is this tea safe during 1st trimester?
by Bulk Herb Store on May 9, 2013

During the first trimester it is best to keep it at 1-2 cups per day, just to be on the safe side! However during the last trimester you can pretty much drink as much as you want, up to 4-6 cups per day.

Tincture Dose
by Audrey on Apr 15, 2013

I used your recipe to make this mix into a tincture. How much do you recommend ingesting in a day? And if I add it to hot water, how much should I add to a cup?

    Re: Tincture Dose
by Bulk Herb Store on May 1, 2013

I have not taken this in tincture form before, but with most tinctures we just start in with a small dose like 1/2 tsp. and add more as we feel we need it. I would prob. do that at least twice a day, depending on your conditions and what you are using it for. I would do the same if adding it to water.

How much per day?
by Stephanie on Mar 25, 2013

    Re: How much per day?

You can drink as much as 4-6 cups per day when you're that far along.

How much tea can this make
by Steph on Mar 19, 2013

How much cups of tea can an order of .5lbs make?

Re: How much tea can this make
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 26, 2013

There is approx. 4 cups of dried herbs in .5 lbs. and we usually use 1-2 tsp. per cup so it should make quite a few! It depends on how much you use per cup of water.

Great Stuff!
by Anonymous on Feb 13, 2013

I am new to using herbs. When I made my first order, I mainly asked some of my friends what they recommended most. Almost all of them mentioned Mama's Red Raspberry Brew! So I went ahead and ordered some. Now here I am recommending it to all of YOU! =) It has been extremely helpful to me, especially during that certain time of the month we females have. ;) And my friends who used it during pregnancy have fallen in love with this stuff. I definitely want to use it when I am pregnant with my first kiddo. I don't necessarily want to publish in full detail why this brew has been so great. ...Just try it and find out for yourself!

Question about red rasp brew and fertility.
by Julie on Jan 29, 2013

In the info for this brew you mentioned its benefits in male fertility. Does it benefit in female fertility as well? Or would you recommend only your berry herbal brew for that?
Thanks!

Re: Question about red rasp brew and fertility.
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 12, 2013

The red raspberry is considered as affective in women's fertility as much as in men's.

Tea Sweetner
by amanda wells on Jan 6, 2013

I am very excited to see all the comments about the great taste of this tea.....I am about to order my first package....I do have one question about the ways to sweeten tho.....I am from the south and as you probably know....we love our tea's sweet....I have tried a brand of raspberry leaf tea pregnancy blend (not yours) and it was extremly bitter to my taste....I am not a huge fan of honey...and I don't have much experience with herbal teas....can you add sugar to sweeten without compromising the health benefits....or are there any other natural ways to sweeten?

    Re: Tea Sweetner
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 21, 2013

Hello! I would suggest using organic raw cane sugar or maple syrup for a sweetener. You can use regular sugar but its most definitely not good for you!

First Trimester?
by Amanda on Dec 21, 2012

I saw a comment that you should only drink small amounts in the first trimester and have also seen conflicting info about red raspberry leaf causing/preventing miscarriage. My sister in law had a miscarriage with her last pregnancy and is pregnant again. Would this be safe for her in early pregnancy?

    Re: First Trimester?
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 21, 2013

If your sister has trouble with miscarriages I would suggest she be extra careful and only start with some red raspberry in her 2nd trimester. She can increase the amount in the 3rd trimester.

Peppermint and breastfeeding
by Margaret M on Dec 19, 2012

Will consuming this tea during the later stages of pregnancy affect breastfeeding? I've heard peppermint is not good for breastfeeding mothers.

    Re: Peppermint and breastfeeding
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 21, 2013

I haven't heard of this before but its best to do your own research on it and make sure you are comfortable with using it.

Speedy Labor
by Jen on Dec 11, 2012

I have used your tea for almost 3 years. We just had our 4th child and I usually just drink this after birth. With this pregnancy I started drinking it at 35 weeks. I read a lot about drinking it while in labor to speed delivery. When I knew things were picking up I made a thermos of 2 strong cups of this tea. I waited to drink it in the parking lot of the hospital. I was holding my baby within an hour. What a great night!

Leaving out the Peppermint
by Suzy Q on Dec 11, 2012

I recently bought the herbs to put together a tea blend similar to yours (I just used your directions and recipe) However I find that that it causes me to have a feeling of reflux after drinking it. I've read that peppermint can cause this, and it's listed as something to avoid if you're having this problem which is often common in pregnancy.. I'm curious what the peppermint does for the blend, health-wise and if I could leave it out for the next batch I mix up without sacrificing the great results I read about. Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge and recipe

    Re: Leaving out the Peppermint
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 21, 2013

Hello! You can see the benefits of peppermint under our bulk herbs. It is not necessary that the peppermint is in it however we add it for the flavor!

Hormones
by Jenna on Nov 19, 2012

Hi! Yes, I think red raspberry would be very helpful for her! She could also try Chaste Tree Berries.

question about Red Raspberry Brew
by Elisabeth on Jul 26, 2012

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first little baby. I just heard about this brew and ordered it. I'm consuming my first 8 cups today..... am I too late into the pregnancy for this to take effect or make a difference?
Thank you!

It should help you some but I would recommend to keep drinking it after the birth as well to help heal the body.

Love your book Making babies
by Lesley on Jul 24, 2012

I loved your book but this tea was in the book with how to brew it but not how to make it : ( I was wondering if you could tell me how many cups of each herb you use to make a bigger batch. I just realized it was a mix. I thought it was just Red raspberry leaf. Thank you : )

Increases milk supply
by Beth Long on Jun 20, 2012

Just wanted to thank you for this product. I've been having trouble pumping enough milk for my baby on the one day a week that I work. Even pumping on the off days wasn't cutting it. I remembered that I had a package of this from my New Mama and Baby Kit (which I LOVE). I started drinking it this week and I have more than enough milk for my 5 month old. This has also helped my energy levels and hydration status. I mix in some peppermint too and it tastes great hot or cold. Thanks!

Question about Red Raspberry Tea
by Mikki on May 19, 2012

How many cups of tea are most people drinking per day to have the effects they've been testifying about making their pregnancies easier? Is it the same amount throughout the whole pregnancy? And do you have other stories about it helping increase fertility, pre-pregnancy?

Re: Question about Red Raspberry Tea
by Bulk Herb Store on Dec 11, 2012

If you have not been drinking Red Raspberry before you got pregnant it is best to only drink a very small amount of this tea within the first 3 months. In your second semester you may start drinking a few cups a day and in your 3rd and very close to the end especially drink 1-2 quarts of tea a day. Red Raspberry is great to use to increase fertility as well!

Thanks!
by Christina S. on May 5, 2011

I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful Mamma's Red Raspberry tea! I had been trying to conceive for several years and was diagnosed with Recurrent Pregnancy Loss after several miscarriages when I decided to research natural supplements to boost fertility. I suspsected a Luteal Phase defect and had awful periods. I started drinking your tea and my very next cycle was dramatically different! I conceived my daughter within just three cycles of starting your tea! The difference in my lining was significant and I fully credit your tea to the results. I've already passed the leftovers on to my sister who is having similar problems. Thank you for such a great product!

So tasty!
by Elizabeth on Feb 18, 2010

This tea blend is so tasty! I drank Red Raspberry leaf during my first pregnancy. Had a very fast and smooth labor/natural birth. Heal up time afterwards was quick too! I drank this blend religiously with my second baby who was later born in record time! Thank you for making this available! Love it!

Another Birth Success Story
by Angel on Jan 21, 2010

We just had our beautiful baby boy two days ago; and I have to tell you that it was the most amazing, quick, beautiful, natural labor I have ever experienced (this one is our 5th natural childbirth). Surely many things contributed to our wonderful birthing experience, first being God's great strength and mercy. Also the Husband-Coached Childbirth book and learning proper breathing, as well as having a great coach, midwife, support system and plan.

But one thing I believe contributed enormously to it all was the Red Raspberry Brew. I drank a quart a day (my own tolerable level--more or less for others) of this tea, with honey, for the entire pregnancy. The actual health of the baby and myself during pregnancy was great. I never had any water retention, and my energy and hormone levels were very stable. Also the progression of labor, and the effectiveness of each contraction during labor was amazing. Although my "due date" was Jan. 7, I naturally went into labor on my own (without inducing with herbs or anything at all) 6 days later. I went to the hospital at 10 pm, and was dilated to 5; and was fully dilated and pushed out our biggest baby at 11:46pm (only 3-4 pushes!) Honestly, I was still in my right mind, not believing I had just had a baby!

Thank you for the knowledge you share on your website to be able to make our lives and the seasons of our lives better!!!

Drinking "My" Tea
by Dr and Mrs Ash May on Jan 20, 2010

I am a long time happy customer of yours. I wrote to you telling about my extremely difficult first labor, and my hopes for a better second one.

During my second pregnancy, I regularly drank Mama's Red Rasberry Brew (1-3 cups a day.) Well, I am thrilled to report that my labor and delivery were fantastic!!!! Only 7 hours of manageable active labor- I was able to labor completely naturally at home with only my husband's support and calm breathing. Then, my son came with only one push! Halleluia! It was truly a miracle- brought on by God's grace and your Mama's Red Rasberry Brew. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

My family bought your New Baby Kit for me- and I have been really loving it. I am using Mama's Red Rasberry Brew to strengthen my uterus back up- and I can tell when I forget to drink it for a while- I will start bleeding again, and my husband chides me "you haven't been drinking your tea" :-) I love your products, and can't wait until I can buy more!!!!

Boosts overall well-being in pregnancy
by Angel on Nov 10, 2009

My experience with Red Raspberry leaf was all in hindsight...meaning I didn't realized that it helped me at the time!

I took red raspberry leaf with our 4th pregnancy (in 2008), though not too consistently. During my third trimester, though, I used it almost daily. I went into labor two weeks before my due date, and made a giant to-go cup with me to bring as I drove to meet my midwife. I chugged that almost 2 quart thing of tea within an hour that afternoon, and by early evening my labor completely stopped. I always wondered how and why it stopped after being supposedly so real. After doing more research, I realized that drinking the red raspberry leaf tea beforehand stopped my false labor! I actually had my baby 4 days past my "due date" :)

This pregnancy, I have been drinking a quart a day from the beginning (the Mama's Red Raspberry Brew), which is about 3 big glasses a day (sometimes more). I have more energy this pregnancy, seem to have stayed healthier, and am able to run around, homeschool and take care of our home without being depleted when my hubby gets home.

Also, I have seasonal depression in the winter/dark months which starts to creep up in the fall, and becomes a dark cloud over me for about 4 months. This is the first time I have enjoyed seeing the leaves fall, and I am truly looking forward to the winter months. That is a first for me! The vitamins and minerals in the tea, I believe, have contributed to it.

God Bless and Thank you so much!

Add Cinnamon

I used this for my last pregnancy, and am here to buy another batch for the next one! I also add a dash of cinnamon to the tea for blood sugar reasons. And it tastes great!

Helps with Pregnancy
by Amy in Maine on Oct 1, 2009

I absolutely love this tea! I’d heard about red raspberry leaves helping with pregnancy and delivery, but only used it sporadically. I always had very long labors. Finally, with my 5th baby I decided to drink Mama’s Red Raspberry brew every single day of my pregnancy. I had less morning sickness, less contractions during pregnancy, and my labor lasted only 4 hours! Thanks for providing quality herbs and information to help us use them. (For the person who requested the mix without peppermint…I suggest buying the herbs separate and making your own mix. The Bulk Herb Store tells you the proportions of herbs to mix.)

It doesn't need honey!
by Clara on Jun 2, 2009

...I am also enjoying your "Mama's Red Raspberry Blend" tea. Just delicious. It doesn't need any honey-it is perfect the way it is.

Thank you!!

A Very Tasty Tea
by Jennifer May on Jun 2, 2009

My husband just ordered me Mama's Red Raspberry Brews, with instructions to drink several cups a day. (I have been having some difficulty with my second pregnancy). I was hesitant because I am not very reliable if my "medicine" tastes bad. Well, I received my tea yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised to find out how tasty it is! I made up a huge pitcher and will keep it filled in the fridge for the remainder of this pregnancy. I am praying that it strengthens my uterus for this upcoming labor... I will keep you informed. Thank you again, for great products and a very tasty tea- now it will be a pleasure to do as the doctor (my husband) ordered! Blessings!

What is variety is the red rasberry?
by Sarah on Nov 30, 2006

I was reading in a book you recommend, "The Naturally Healthy Pregnancy", and it said to be careful of the Rubus idaeus variety of red raspberry leaves. I have had 2 miscarriages in the past with a baby born in between. My husbnad and I are planning on trying again. Our son was born c-section, and then a miscarriage and my body is having a hard time recovering. In the book women who had repeated miscarriages were cautioned not to take Rubus idaeus. Do you have any suggestions in this area and what is the variety of red raspberry you carry?

red raspberry without the pepermint
by Lindsey Richmond on Nov 8, 2006

I would buy it without the pepermint if it was offered. I was told pepermint can decrease your breast milk. I am nuring but am very interested in the raspberry brew.

Sounds good, I have a question though!
by Margaret on Sep 24, 2006

I am planning to order the Mama's brew shortly, but I have been wondering about something.

I have heard that alfalfa is useful in preventing excess bleeding after birth, and as I hemorrhaged a good deal after my second child was born (probably due to an overextended uterus, he was 10 lbs!), I am very much hoping this is true.
Any thoughts? Or are there other herbs with an anti-hemorrhage quality that i might try during this pregnancy?

Re: Sounds good, I have a question though!
by Bulk Herb Store on Sep 25, 2006

Alfalfa does have some blood clotting properties. For that reason, you may want to consider consuming it. Red Raspberry, however, is THE herb for preparing the uterus to deliver, and for recovery after the birth. If excessive bleeding occurs during or after the birth, Cayenne is the herb we'd use.

I drank this tea faithfully for my second pregnancy and what a difference in labor. It went so smoothly and with much less pain. The doctors and nurses were so impressed they wanted to have the baby channel there! I'm now ordering it for my third pregnancy and excited to get started! Thanks for your great products

Red Raspberry Brew
by Barbara Siron on Aug 23, 2006

Hello again!
I would like to know if I could get the brew without the peppermint. My husband and I both love raspberry tea (herbal from the grocery store-your is going to be much cheaper in long run) I love peppermint but he does not. How about it? I buy raspberry tea a lot and would love to try yours, without the peppermint.
Thanks, again!

    Re: Red Raspberry Brew
by Bulk Herb Store on Aug 23, 2006

This may be a good idea. However, in order for us to offer it, we'd need to know there is a substantial interest in such a mix or variation (at least more than one request). The batches of the premixed remedies are quite large, therefore we cannot make one just for one or a few customers.

Please, take a moment and comment on this product.

Good evening. I have been drinking your Rise and Shine Tea almost every day since I received it. It's wonderful! I have NEVER had a tea that I liked that much. I've cut down on coffee, and have sent several bags to friends and family so they can try it and order their own.
