We recently used Mullein leaf glycerite for a bad cough my daughter had and Mullein infused oil for an earache. Both have worked beautifully. The oil worked for her ear within minutes (no more complaints) and the glycerite cured her cough within a day or two.

Relieves Asthma

I started using mullein for asthma, along with a mixture with sage and yerba mate and my asthma has improved greatly. Before, I was using steroids to make my lungs stronger, and that was the only way I would be able to breathe well without having to use a rescue inhaler all the time. But now I drink a sage/mullein tea about 2-3 times a day every day and I don't even use my lung steroids anymore, ever since I started using this tea infusion. I recommend it to anyone that has troubles with asthma or lung diseases--works like a charm.

Mullein for gout

We recently found that this wonderful herb, which grows wild here in Missouri, is soothing to gout. My husband has severe gout with frequent flareups. I made a poultice of the leaves mixed with olive oil. Wintergreen oil would have been better but had none so substituted olive. Crushed into a poultice and applied directly to the swollen and inflammed joint in his foot. Covered with a cloth and left on for 3 hours. We applied this to his foot 4 times within 24 hours and viola. Incredible shrinking of the swelling and redness, decreased pain. He even used the actual leaves as a padding over the joint while in his shoe. I have kept and dried seeds from the plant in hopes of adding it to my herb garden come spring. I'm glad to know I can buy it bulk here as well.
