Cramp Tincture Mix

Herbal Mixes: PMS Cramp Tincture Mix

Out of stock - In-Stock Notification

Contains: Cramp bark White Willow Chamomile Flower Passion Flower and Valerian root

How to make it
Fill a clean glass canning jar 1/3 full with dried herbs. Add vodka up to one inch to the top. Screw lid on tightly and store in a cool, dark place. Shake 3-7 times a week. The tincture needs to sit at least 2-6 weeks. Strain tincture and pour into a colored glass bottle, closing the lid tightly. Alcohol tinctures will last 2-3 years. Tinctures need to be kept in a cool, dark place such as a cabinet.
Why use vodka? Water rolls off the liver where alcohol goes straight to it taking the herb with it.

I always had extremely severe periods, until I started the PMS Tincture mix. When I say severe, I mean at 14 years old I was given a prescription muscle relaxer to help my cramps. At 15 I was put on birth control to regulate my exhaustive, uncontrollable flow. At the age of 22 I gave up and stopped taking everything, nothing seemed to help. All this changed when I started taking the PMS Tincture kit. I took the pre-2 week, three weeks before the start of my period. Basically, one week after I stopped my period. The pre-1 week, I took one week before dooms day, and the cramp tea as needed during my period.

I took:

  • Pre 2 wk: 3-4 TBSP per day for severe months or 2-3 TBSP per day for normal months, starting 2 weeks before cycle.
  • Pre 1 wk: 2-3 TBSP per day, even if still taking Pre-2 wk., starting 1 week before cycle. (Discontinue pre-1 and pre-2 after cycle begins.)
  • Cramp Tea: 1 TBSP every 30 minutes, until cramps subside and 2 tsp. every 3-4 hrs after that.

The best part about the tincture mix is it works and it gives your body the extra nutrients it needs for “that time of the month”. Some greatly appreciated benefits I noticed were the sweets cravings subsided, headaches were less frequent and more manageable, and water weight is less too.

Which kind of alcohol?
by Shalom S on Aug 29, 2014

On the label of the package I received it says to use rum or whiskey instead of on this page it says vodka. I was wondering if it made a difference which one I use?

    Re: Which kind of alcohol?
by Bulk Herb Store on Sep 8, 2014

You can use any of the three. Rum, Whiskey, and Vodka are all strong alcohols and will pull the herbal properties out of the herbs as needed. Thanks!

Can this tincture be used as a preventative to keep cramps from coming in the first place?

    Re: Preventative
by Bulk Herb Store on Feb 14, 2014

You could use it as a preventative right before you are about to start. However you should also check out the Women's Only Pre-1 and 2 week Tinctures, since that helps correct the underlying hormonal problems.

ACV vs Vodka?
by Shannon on Jan 22, 2014

I know apple cider vinegar is a viable option for making extracts, but do you know the science of the difference in benefits? Does ACV not extract as well? When the extract is taken is ACV not absorbed as well?

    Re: ACV vs Vodka?

Apple Cider Vinegar would be absorbed just not as quickly. It also does not extract the herbal properties as well as vodka. Thanks!

relieves gallbladder pain
by Leah H on Sep 28, 2013

I had just finished making a tincture of this with apple cider vinegar when I had a gallbladder attack. I was looking for remedies online and found that apple cider vinegar might help so I thought why not use this tincture and enjoy the benefits of the herbs as well. This dulled the pain enough so I was finally able to get to sleep and the pain was gone in the morning!

Yes, it would help you get regulated. Just stop as soon as you find out your pregnant.

Cramp Bark
by Adrienne on Aug 12, 2013

Quick question. I was going to make the after birth cramping tincture from the making baby series...but I can only find cramp bark in this mix, which has some different ingredients overall. What would you recommend that I do.
Thank you

We don't sell cramp bark at this time. You could try using this tincture for cramping but I would suggest researching the herbs if you plan on nursing. Thanks!

When you list the dosage that you took, you label it as "cramp tea" but you also refer to a tincture in the description. Did you take 1 Tablespoon of tea every 30 minutes or did you take 1 Tablespoon of tincture every 30 minutes?

    Re: Dosage
by Bulk Herb Store on Aug 7, 2013

It was the cramp tincture every thirty minutes. Thanks!

Vinegar tincture
by Anonymous on Feb 26, 2013

Hello! I was wondering if a vinegar or glycerin tincture would work, for this tea, or if vodka is the only way to get it where it needs to go?

    Re: Vinegar tincture
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 24, 2013

Yes you can use vinegar or glycerin as well as vodka!

PMS Cramp Tincture Mix
by Jenny on Jan 26, 2013

Could you use glycerine to make this tincture, or would it not be as effective as alcohol?

Also, what herbs would you recommend for night sweats/hot flashes, or pre-menopausal symptoms in general? Perhaps you could make a mix for Pre-Menopause Relief?

    Re: PMS Cramp Tincture Mix
by Bulk Herb Store on Apr 2, 2013

Yes, you can make it with glycerin, it won't be as strong tasting but still effective. Some herbs for Pre-menopause would be Black Cohosh, Chaste Berry, Dong Quai, Red Clover, and Sage. Avoid using Red Clover if you have/had ovarian cysts, breast cancer or any hormone related tumors, as Red Clover has estrogenic properties.

Can I use something other than vodka?

    Re: Question
by Bulk Herb Store on Mar 28, 2013

Yes, your next best option would be apple cider vinegar, second, vegetable glycerin, and third would be honey!
