a family favorite!
by Cyndi on Oct 31, 2013

Rooibos has been a favorite herbal tea in my family for decades. We have used it to treat colds & flu, insomnia, cold sores, allergies, shingles, asthma, and as a topical treatment for rashes & itching. And we love the taste of rooibos over ice.
Good and so good for you!

Tasty But NOT the Spiced Version
by Anonymous on Aug 23, 2013

This was my first time ordering loose tea, so I was sad to take my first sip and realize that I had mistakenly ordered this and not the Red Rooibos Spiced Chai. This tea is nice, very mild and tastes similar to a regular black tea (at least with cream & sugar which is how I prepared it), but it doesn't have the bite of the spiced version that I love so much. Just be aware of which you are ordering! Comes in a sturdy resealable plastic bag, which is nice.

I live on a Greek island and there is such an abundance of herbs growing wild! However,I don't really know what they all do and how to best use them. Thanks for this fantastic site which I discovered through NGJ! I would like to give all mamas a healthy alternative to baby lotion.

Heat 2 cups of good quality olive oil with a handful of chamomile flowers (dried) and pour in a jar and allow to cool. Store in glass for future use. I use it on the children after their bath by massaging and they warm up in seconds! It also seems to help in healing cuts and abrasions.

Did you know that chamomile actually means apple of the ground in Greek (because of its apple-like smell)?

Thanks once again! ~Arlene
