NO MICE!

by Jillian Martin

December 2005

I just wanted to give a little advice for mouse irradication. We live in the city and have been getting mice in our house every winter for three years, now. Around 2-4 every winter season. May not be a lot to some, but they gross me out! I have tried vinegar, and I tried tansy. Nothing seemed to keep these little monsters away. No search engines on the internet were of help, either. I was reading your article Vinegar of the Four Theives on your website and caught a glimpse of a nugget of truth. It stated that people used to burn rosemary to rid their house of vermin. I tried it in my basement and put some burnt crumbles in the bottom cupboards where they like to show themselves. I am happy to say that in the cold, Northwest Ohio area, in mid December, for the first time in three years, NO MICE! Even my husband was shocked! Plus, your house will have a very pleasant "camp-fire" like smell to it. Hope this may help someone else.

Rosemary tea
by Gella G on Jun 22, 2014

I learned from my Aunt in Jamaica that rosemary can be steeped as a tea (1/2 tsp in 1 mug of boiled water for about 20 min) and taken up to 3 times a day to treat sinus allergies. My husband was having severe sinus headaches and post nasal drainage that was causing upset stomach. it has taken now 4 months of daily use but every week is a little better. My son on the other hand responded much faster, granted he was having on severe mucous production (even after being taken off of milk and sugar - although this did make it better). The poor child was not appreciated by his peers with his loud blowing, ridiculous use of tissue and frequent sneezing that would result in a wad of snot hang from his nose - go figure. In one month of half the adult dose only twice daily he was off the singulair and by the next month, only occasional symptoms. They are extreme cases. I sermize that most people would be fully treated in 3 months.

I love your herbs! And I have never tasted better Peppermint. I've started mixing teas for friends, and they love your herbs, too. :) My kids (almost 3 and almost 2) caught a cold at church a few weeks ago, and I've been giving them plain peppermint tea to help clear their noses when they get too stuffy. They think it's the best treat, and love it. My daughter especially loves the Sleepy Time Tea with Chamomile flowers. It's become our nightly 'thing' to have a cup of tea and read a bedtime or Bible story. Also, the Nutritional Herbology book has been of great help to me, and since I've started using Red Raspberry in most of my teas, my not-so-fun monthly female cramps have almost disappeared! Thank you so much for offering your herbs at such wonderful prices. I can't find better prices anywhere.
