It didn’t take much longer for the women to get the step by step directions finished. Encouraged with their progress, Hope ran through her mental checklist. “Okay. I’ve walked you through the berry mash, fermentation, the ratios, the sequence, and the timing. There’s the importance of keeping the finished brewing jars sterile yet closed loosely enough so that the fermentation gases can escape. So, let’s see…”

Cheyenne stood and stretched, taking a break from the computer. “I’ll read the stuff about muscadine and wolfberry tonight at home and try to find a suitable substitute for next year’s brew. I can sure see why the Indian Gooseberry can’t be substituted with any other berry. Do you have anything else you think I need to know before we quit?”

Hope gazed at a quart jar sitting towards the back of the cluttered countertop. She reached out, lightly touching the lid. “I need to tell you about this one. It’s different.”

“Different?” Cheyenne tensed. Hope’s answer was so soft it was barely audible. “Very, very different.” Cheyenne leaned forward and asked, “What are you saying, Mom?” Hope continued speaking quietly. “Everything else – all of the research and work – could not equal this one small jar … everything.”

Hope’s lips barely moved. “This is truly the fountain of life. This is the miracle brew.”

Cheyenne’s ears drummed with anticipation as she considered Hope’s meaning. Uneasy, Hope placed her index finger to her lips. She moved to the heavy exterior lab door and she closed it. Then she turned on the noisy exhaust fan. “Just in case,” she whispered.

A Great Read!

I have not done any "recreational" reading since bc (before children) until just a week ago when I received The Vision. Well, I "stole" time to read through this book after everyone went to sleep. It only took me a week to eat it. A great read!

Packed with facts, opportunities to do one's own research, adventure, mystery, murder, honest romance, uses of herbs, and the Truth. Towards the end, as tension is building in the plot..there is a part where it's like having a little bit of church right at home where God's Word is taught to answer some very real and scary questions about the very time we're living in presently. It's a book that encourages one to get down on one's knees, look up to the only One Who can answer us, and then follow. This book ignites one to "run one's race" and be His arms, a laborer, a publisher. A publisher?'ll have to read to find out what that means!

“I have just finished devouring The Vision. It was well-written with complicated, real characters. The gospel and all Bible teaching was neatly tucked into the plot. No pauses for an obvious sermon as in some Christian fiction I have read. Enough action to keep you turning the pages but also good dialogue and even a love story (minus the romance novel junk). I have read a lot of end of the world type science fiction/fantasy and while some left me disturbed emotionally by the imagery none have sent me to my knees or to my Bible as this book has. There are some scary and sad scenes but a constant reminder that God is in control, caring for His children, and some well-placed humor help to keep the book positive rather than depressing. I also liked the tidbits of factual knowledge at the bottom - although sometimes that was more disturbing than the story line!
“HIGHLY recommended by this picky reader.”

When our family begins to get the sniffles, I prepare a simple concoction of
the following in a small dish:

½ cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 inches of ginger, minced

Drizzle ¾ cup of non-pasturized honey over the mix of fresh herbs and cover
with a lid. In a while, you will notice a runny liquid forming on top; this
is an extraction of the ingredients. Use this liquid as a cough syrup
throughout the day. Our colds do not usually last more than 2 days with this
easy and effective concoction!

This combination can also be used in a tea form. Simply brew a cup of mint
or chamomile tea and add some of the above mentioned liquid along with some
freshly squeezed lemon juice. Non-pasturized honey can also be added to
taste. This tea works just like Neocitran without the use of drugs or
