Turmeric root powder has a strong reputation as a medicinal herb and anti-inflammatory agent.

Turmeric root powder has been known for some time to have antiseptic properties, but it was formerly too pricey to be used in that manner. Today, however, it is becoming popular as a cleansing agent to rid one’s colon of parasites and yeast infections.

Turmeric root powder relies on its volatile oil for its actions. It increases the production of enzymes in the liver that metabolize toxins in the manner similar to schizandra, Licorice and Milk Thistle. This may also explain its anti-inflammatory effects.

Turmeric Chai Latte Recipe

Makes 2 small servings

2 Cups Whole Milk
1 Tbsp Butter
1 tsp Turmeric Root Powder
1 tsp Ginger Root
15 Black Peppercorns (Black Pepper activates Turmeric)
1/2 tsp Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp of Raw Honey to taste
Garnish with a pinch of Cinnamon or fresh ground Black Peppercorns

1. Add milk to a small pot and turn heat to medium/low. Add all other ingredients except for the honey.
2. Bring to a simmer for 10-20 minutes (longer equals stronger).
3. After simmering, strain out the herbs and transfer the milk to a blender.
4. Add the honey and blend for 30-45 seconds, until light and frothy.
5. Pour into 2 of your favorite cups and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon or fresh ground peppercorns if desired. Share with a friend and enjoy!

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

  • This is not like the turmeric you may find on a spice rack in a supermarket. This is much more fresh and effective.
  • Like most spices, it is potent and a little goes a long way.
  • We use it very often in tincture combinations and in capsules. Of course, it can be used in many other types of remedies. Except as a tea, as powders are not normally used in tea combinations.
  • Turmeric is a food and spice. Thus, we keep it in the kitchen as all other food ingredients. We add it to many dishes (salads, meat dishes, rice, stir fry, vegetables, etc.) to enhance the flavor and add nutritional value to our foods.
  • Turmeric can be used to benefit anyone: men, women (including before, during or after pregnancy, and nursing), children and animals.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose.
  • As is the case with most spices, Turmeric should be stored in a dark, dry, and cool place.

Turmeric for long time cough

My father had cough for years and we didn't know what to do. When I read one of the review here about its effect, I thought I should ask my father to try it. He took 2 capsule 3 time a day and I saw the effect in 3-4 days. His years long cough gone. It was magical. I realized what raw turmeric can do which cooked one cannot, because I am from India and we use turmeric powder everyday in cooking and we use a lot.

Bronchitis/asthma cure

Hello, I would like to share my experience when I get a hint of a cold and it doesn't matter how minor, it will trigger an asthma episode, then without further notice I will get a bout of bronchitis without fail - and its always acute for me!
I got tied of going to the Doctors for antibiotics every year and I get sick of being down for the count for weeks on end. My cough is so violent I have to wear pads to protect me and everything I sit on.
To cut a long story short... I heard that Turmeric was a wonderful anti-inflammatory and just an overall great spice for ones health... I just thought it would be good for my chest perhaps... this is my intuition setting in. I went online and got hold of 1000 "00" vegetable capsules + the machine to make my own capsules - bought a 250gm (5lb) pack of turmeric powder from the local Indian spice shop and packed around 500 capsules full of this wonderful spice... (sent 250 odd to my mother in-law for her arthritis) and proceeded to take after food of course, twice a day 4 turmeric full capsules. WELLLLL... Life can throw a miracle our way at times and I can honestly say for me that my bronchitis became loose within 2 days... my airway tubes felt like they were having some relief... so I kept up this dosage for a week... and my bronchitis (without one visit to the doctors or a trip to the hospital because it becomes chronic no matter what) has all but gone! I AM THE HAPPIEST PERSON ALIVE TODAY!!
Yes, I self medicated and intent (as winter is fast approaching) to take 2 morning/night for the next month... then I will drop it down to 1 maybe 2 times a day for the rest of my life!!
I can't speak more highly of this wonder root!!

Turmeric for cancer

My husband read that turmeric was proven effective on cancer. When his PSA went up again, he chose to try turmeric rather than start treatments again. In six weeks his PSA fell by .5.
He is going to continue it and, prayerfully, the turmeric, along with the organic black pepper, will continue to be effective on his prostrate cancer.

Daily use of Turmeric

We[mostly myself] use This spice on almost everything we eat and being told recently from research that Turmeric is not absorbed well by our digestive system until ground black pepper is added which we are also told from other research that black pepper increases absorption of foods by a factor of 2,000%. A bit of info to digest.

Liver Imflamation resolved

At B.H.S. this is one of my favorite herbs. For the last year or so I'd been having tenderness and swelling over liver area. After taking turmeric in caps (2-3) 3x per day I no longer experience this! Also took away stiffness/tenderness in muscles and joints. I no longer have to take it.Exciting!
