Very Berry Tincture

Herbal Mixes: Very Berry Tincture

VERY BERRY TINCTURE
Contains: Bilberry fruit powder, Bilberry leaf, Elderberry fruit, Red Raspberry, Orange Peel.

This combination is one of our favorites!

Directions:
Fill a clean glass jar with 1/3 of herb mix, maybe a little more. Fill jar with 90 proof rum, vodka, or whiskey, screw lid on, label including all the herbs. The alcohol will break down the herbal properties in about 3 weeks. Shake once a day to help keep all the herb loose. After 3-4 weeks strain herbs off and throw away. Honey can be added to liquid tincture to make it more palatable. Keep tincture in a place out of sun and not too warm. A cabinet works great!

Pregnancy?
by Sylvia on Jan 16, 2013

Do you recommend using this during pregnancy? Thank-you!

Personally I would feel safe taking it during pregnancy if made with glycerine or a non-alcoholic base, however I would suggest asking your health care provider before using. Also you shouldn't take it all the time, basically as an immune system booster, as the bilberry can inhibit iron absorption if taken over a long period of time, so we would suggest 2 wks. on-2 wks. off.

when would you use this?

I am looking to strengthen the womb post cesarean delivery 8 months ago. Would that be an appropriate application for this tincture? How long would you recommend taking it and is it safe while breastfeeding?

I would suggest using Red Raspberry for this!

Dosage on very berry mix
by Cynthia Blaha on Dec 1, 2012

I don't know if this mixture would be the same as
straight bilberry tincture, but the dosage on a bottle of tincture that I purchased recommends you take it for six days then off for one. Which of the herbs would decrease iron absorption, just the bilberry or the combination of all the herbs?

    The main one is bilberry!

I would like to know what the dosage is on the Very Berry Tincture and how many times a day?????

Hi! The recommended dosage is 1/2 a tsp 1-2 times a day but while this is good for you I suggest that you do not take it for a long period of time. Bilberry if taken in large amounts and over a long time it can inhibit iron absorption. Be sure to consult a doctor before taking it if you are on any medications! Thanks for your question!

I received my orders this week. We are steeping our Vinegar of the Four Thieves and sipping Rise and Shine Tea. But my best brag by far is with the hair treatment. I have very curly and very dry, prematurely graying hair - I don't like the results I've had with chemical preparations. So, I tried the Beautiful Hair dark this week. I was still having my doubts as I smeared green goo into my dry locks. But, as my hair dried after a good shampoo the next morning I was delighted to see the shine in my curls. I have never had shiny hair - always drab and dry. Thank you for such a wonderful product!
