Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder, 1/2 lb.(ACP-2)
Made from 100% high-quality coconut shells, this Coconut Charcoal Powder is one of the essentials in an herbalist’s first-aid kit.
Like our Activated Hardwood Charcoal, our Activated Coconut Charcoal binds with toxins and helps remove harmful bacteria from the digestive system and from the skin when used externally. This Activated Charcoal is slightly more coarse than the hardwood charcoal and is specially made with 100% coconut shells to create the best and most adsorbent charcoal needed to function for your body.
Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder has anti-poison, astringent, and adsorbent (binding) properties. It has been used as an anti-poison remedy for centuries. It works as an adsorbent for toxins in the digestive system.
Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder can adsorb a variety of particles and gases, which makes it ideal for removing potentially toxic substances from the digestive tract. Your stomach acid does not break down the Charcoal Powder, so it is not absorbed by the body, but carries toxins out of the body in the feces.
Due to Activated Charcoal's abilities to adsorb everything, we recommend taking it on an empty stomach, 1-2 hours before eating a nutritious meal and/or taking supplements/medications. This ensures that you are getting the most out of your cleanse with Activated Charcoal, and also giving your body time to absorb and digest the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from whole foods and supplements.

- 3 tsp. Activated Charcoal
- 3 tsp. Bentonite Clay
- 1/2 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
- 25 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
- 10 drops
- 8 Tbsp. of Infused Herbal Oil (or coconut oil)
- 2 tsp. Beeswax
- 1 - 4 oz. Glass or metal container
Infused Herbal Oil
There are many different methods and instructions on how to make an infused oil. Check out this link for the quick, condensed version and use Calendula Flowers in your infused oil.
DIY Black Salve
- Combine the Activated Charcoal, Bentonite Clay, and Essential Oils in a large glass or wooden bowl. Set aside.
- Combine infused oil and beeswax in a double boiler. (You can use a pot full of water and a bowl or pot on top of that, for an easy, makeshift double boiler.)
- Heat on Medium-Low until the beeswax has melted entirely. Then add oil mixture into the powder mixture gradually; stop and stir the mixture frequently to incorporate the oil properly.
- Pour the salve into a glass jar. Let cool until it hardens completely. This recipe makes 4 oz. of Black Salve.
Note: If you notice after the salve has hardened, that your powders have sunk to the bottom of the jar, and your oil has stayed on the top, simply mix the salve again with a spoon, until the powders and hardened oil are mixed again. This will result in a soft, creamy salve that is easy to apply. Enjoy!
How To Use - Place a small amount of the finished salve directly onto a bug bite, splinter, rash, or anything else that could be helped with a "drawing" effect. Cover the application with a Band-Aid to insure that the salve doesn't smear and stain clothing. Allow the salve to sit directly on skin for up to 12 hours. Continue application until problem is remedied. The finished product will last for at least one year if kept in a cool, dark location. Enjoy!
