How To Make Your Own "Tranquil Tea" Blend
By Katie Mae Stanley - March 22, 2013
I am a self professed tea addict! There. I've admitted it. There's not a day that goes by where I don't drink at least one cup of tea. This morning I've had five mug fulls! Earl Grey has been my tea of choice today. However you like it... black, green, herbal, red, white; with honey, coconut cream, raw milk…. tea makes pleasant days even more cheery and difficult days a touch better. It offers, comfort, relief, relaxation and encourages fellowship. Some days I like to unwind with a soothing herbal blend. This tea fits the bill. I hope you enjoy the simple yet delightful combination of flavors. There are no exact measurements; you can use a tablespoon or a 1 quart jar to equal one part. I suggest starting with a smaller measurement like a tablespoon or 1/4 cup.
- 4 parts chamomile
- 2 parts lemon grass
- 2 parts rose petals
- Add all the herbs to a glass jar and shake until they are completely mixed.
- Use one teaspoon of tisane for a single serving (about 8 oz). Add your desired amount to a tea strainer or teapot. Cover with boiling water a let steep for at least 5 minutes or up to 10.
- Add a touch of raw honey or a tiny pinch of stevia for a hint of sweetness to bring out the flavors.
