DIY Herbal Natural Face Wash

Wash your worries away with this oil-based natural face wash. This face wash gently cleanses the natural way, helping to leave your skin free of impurities and ready to shine through the day. If you already have a favorite infused oil then you can go ahead and start with step two!

1. Infuse Your Herbal Oil

Olive Leaf Lavender Flowers Rosemary Leaf Pau D’Arco Sage Oregano Cloves Cinnamon Sticks Coconut Oil Fill a glass jar 1/3 of the way full with equal parts of each herb. Cover herbs in coconut oil (more easily done if oil is slightly melted). Place lid on jar. Set jar on top of a towel in a crockpot filled with water, on the warm setting for 3 days. Watch water level and be very careful not to pour cool water on a hot jar, as this can cause it to explode. After 3 days, remove the jar from heat, let cool, and strain off herbs. Now you have an Herbal Infused Oil!

2. Make Herbal Natural Face Wash

1/8 C. Castile Soap, unscented 1/4 C. Infused Herban Oil 1/4 C. Raw Honey 1/8 C. Organic Lemon Juice 1 T. Apple Cider Vinegar 1 T. Vitamin E Oli 10 Drops Essential Oils 7 Drops Grapefruit Seed Extract Mix all ingredients together, bottle, and label. For gifts make your own "Handmade with Love" tag and fasten with a ribbon. Enjoy!

To use:

Massage face wash into dry face using firm but slow circular motions. This will allow the oils to dissolve any makeup, sunscreen, or dirt that has accumulated during the day. It will also help loosen any impurities that have found their way into your pores. Then take a warm wet wash cloth and press it to your face to begin to warm the skin and oil. Repeat wetting the washcloth with warm water and pressing it to your face two more times and then gently wipe face clean with the washcloth paying special attention to your jawline, nose, and eyes. Rinse with warm water and follow with your favorite toner and moisturizer.   Return to all articles
