All the warm days of summer are in front of us and having the perfect frozen treat to cool down is a must! This fun and healthy recipe features two of our most popular herbs and blends a subtle balance of their flavors and sweetness to make a fantastic frozen pop!
Lavender has calming components that help you sit back and unwind, while Chamomile can help relax the nerves and may aid in digestion. The fragrant floral notes of the Lavender and bright apple aroma of the Chamomile make this a perfect pairing!
They are quick and easy to make, which is always a plus and can be stored in freezer bags for future use.
Ingredients-
2 Teaspoons Lavender Flowers
2 Teaspoons Chamomile Flowers
4-5 Cups Boiling Water
1/3 Cup of Honey (more or less to taste)
Popsicle Molds
Go ahead and get that water to boiling temperature, like you were making a cup of tea. Take the 2 tsp. of Lavender and put in tea strainer. Put 2 cups boiling water in one container and steep, do the same with the 2 tsp. of Chamomile and put in another container and steep.
Once they steep for about 3 minutes, add the teas together and add honey.
You can now grab those popsicle molds and poor it in. Be sure and add popsicle sticks if your molds do not come with them. You are going to want it to freeze for about 6 hours.
You can definitely store in freezer bags once you take them out of the popsicle molds. A couple other ideas is to freeze the mixture as ice cubes and add to your iced tea, or poor over shaved ice as a snow cone alternative!
I hope you enjoy this mild, healthy and refreshing treat this summer!
